A good budget microphone for video chat, distance education, and more.
At this price point, I was eager to set up the microphone and put it through its paces. My conclusion is that this is very much a budget microphone. It is what it is and it's not what it's not. Here's what I mean. If you're looking for a podcasting microphone that will make your voice sound smooth and velvety, this probably isn't the one for you. If you're looking for a microphone to help enhance your video chats for work and school, this microphone is very good.PROS- Decent sound reproduction, a little light on the low end.- Lightweight microphone makes it easy to take along with a laptop- Base is sturdy, but not too heavy which can be tilted- Plug and play makes getting started easy (didn't need the manual or drivers!)CONS- Not a high-end microphone; the price point is appropriate.- More treble than bass in sound reproduction.- Mostly plastic construction, except for the base.

Cuts out the background noise - love mute button - great for conferencing. But updated due to issue.
Updated at the bottom; stars knocked down.I spend my days like many right now doing conference calls on Zoom and Teams. My "office" is in my basement near my furnace and the furnace could be heard in the background with my previous microphone (a Neewer NW-800 boom mic which is still a nice mic for certain applications). I switched to this Bietrun and now nobody on the other end can hear my furnace run. It cuts out the background noise very well while delivering clear voice to others.I didn't think much about the mute button on the base, but I really love it. Often, my Zoom or Teams window gets hidden so I leave the mic unmuted in the application and use the button on the mic itself to mute and unmute. The little LED ring turns red or green to indicate mute status. It is so much easier than searching for the application then clicking the mute on or off.Be sure to read manual on how to activate noise reduction - long press on mute button and LED ring changes color to lighter green. The base is very nice and sits on my desk about 18inches from my head. It picks up my voice very well.I do not use the wired headphone jack in the bottom much, but it does work well. With volume control at max and PC volume at max it does not overwhelm me, but maybe slightly more audio level would be desired by some.I do use large external speakers and they do not feed back into the microphone causing echo or whistling.I would highly recommend this microphone.UPDATE: This microphone worked great for about 3 months then my computer started crashing to blue screen only during conference calls with an error message indicating a driver issue. I found that unplugging this microphone the computer never crashed but then plugging it back in I got the crashes again. The microphone uses a standard Windows driver from what I can tell, but still I get the crashes. I've long thrown away the box so can't return (at least I personally won't return without all of the original packaging). I did not try a support line for help - I usually find it painful and would rather just move on.One other thing I noticed. When I got my Jabra speaker/mic as a replacement I noticed the mute button on the device would actually trigger the mute indicator in Teams and the hang-up button would disconnect me from the Teams meeting. The mute on the Bietrun does not activate the mute in Teams (but mic is muted) and there is no way to disconnect with Bietrun (not a big deal).I will give it a try on another computer where I don't really need a mic. Too bad, I really liked the looks and it was doing great cutting out background noise. It would be great if other reviewers could counter my issue with computer crashes. It could easily be a conflict with something else installed on my PC, but I have no time to troubleshoot that.

Best Bang for the buck Supercardioid mic
Pros:-People can hear me nice and clear-The build quality is decent-The big round LED to tell it is on or not-Easy to assemble-Easy to set up for windows 10 without the driver being installed, window 10 detected it in 1 to 2 min.-The cable that connects to the mic is detachable.-The size of the mic is compact in my opinion compared to other mics-The stand/base is made of metal, so it doesn’t move that easily.- packaged nicely- According to others the noise cancelation just makes it less static noise and more clear on my voice, but I have to talk loud/louder it sometimes.Cons:-Has no sensitivity control on the mic, so I have to tweak it through windows because sometimes it picks up background noise but this is rare and depending on the game chat/platform.-The detachable cable is not braided (not a big deal because the cable is replaceable and it is thick enough).-The stand needs to rotate more, it only rotates a little. Unless you are trying to keep this on your desk for one place this will be fine.Build quality:-The base/stand is made of metal and the rest is made of plastic.-The build quality is decent-The stand/base is made of metal, so it doesn’t move that easily or fall over.Nice to have in the next generation mic:- braided detachable cable- build in sensitivity control- I feel like the plastic could be thicker to make it feel more premium. Right now it feels average to decent compared to other mics.- A more rotatable base/stand.Overall:Compared to other mics in the price range this is an amazing mic for your money.I would recommend it to anyone to buy it. It is worth it because it is easy to set up and there aren’t big flaws when getting this mic.

Great value for money!
This is my take on the Bietrun UMKF01 microphone. I am an up and coming content creator on a streaming platform, I need a microphone that could accurately capture the commentary I provide when I stream video game content. So far this microphone gets the job done. It does not have the advanced noise cancelling features that more premium microphones have; but at this price point, I would gladly get this mic as an entry level purchase. These are what I consider to be its pros and cons:PROS:-It is a cardioid microphone and it does pick up audio mainly from the front, some audio from the side and the rear-It comes with a stand that rotates and is adjustable for proper positioning whether in content creation or meetings-It uses micro-usb, this to me is a Pro because you are able to get a replacement cable if ever you lose the cable it comes with.-Indicator LED, it lights up green when it is recording or live and red when it is muted.-Has headphone jack for monitoring audio (Don't know what you sound like? plug a pair of headphones to do so; volume knob allows you to adjust volume while you monitor your own voice)Cons:-Plastic construction, it is what you pay for (the microphone has survived many falls from a 3ft table to hardwood floors)-Short cable, it does not have that long of a cable (approximately 3ft in length)Overall, this microphone is a good entry level microphone. If you are doing commentary work, meetings, or need a good quality microphone for the price, this is the microphone for you. If you are well versed in audio manipulating software, this mic is a great purchase as you can make the audio quality even better!
