I ordered these to create memorial boxes for one of my students that recently lost her 4-year-old sister. I ordered two because she goes between her mom and dads’ house. I prefer to gift a memory box in lieu of flowers for families to collect personal items, mementos or pictures. They can sit with their other daughter and reflect on fond memories and add them to the box as they go through the grieving process together. These Blake & Lake boxes are the perfect size. They have a smooth surface for the vinyl decal to adhere to. I ordered the large white box, with a 6" hot pink vinyl decal (decal not from B&L). The boxes arrived well packaged and had no broken or splintered wood and the hinges worked well. They are beautifully crafted, sturdy and have a felted bottom. As you can see the boxes turned out perfectly. The price point reflects the quality and workmanship I was looking for. At about the cost of a (small) floral bouquet I found these to be everything I hoped. They are ready to give as a beautiful keepsake they can enjoy for many years. Long after flowers are gone.

My wife etched our nieces and nephews names on them as a gift. They love putting their stuff in them and we know they'll treasure them a life time. It is sort of a tradition in our family that Uncles buy stuff like this, but it was hard to find something that would allow us to personalize them.

I needed a nice box for an eyepiece box, this was what I found after looking at several other options, the 90* hinges are solid are work perfectly, it has a nice thickness to the wood planks at 3/8" and the top panel feels like about 1/8" it is not flimsy by any means, the satin finish was also nicely done, the only complaint I have is the ugly this black felt, since I was going to add some circular foam rubber pads that were way better, they should just leave that off, it was not fun taking it off along with the residue glue. after buying some utility door handles and some antique bronze corner savers and latches, it turned out awesome with the kaizen foam finishing it off on the inside, sorry for no pics.

All of the Blake &Lake boxes seem to be well made. I used my laser to make a retirement gift for our office manager and it turned out great. I like the color options and wood selection they have. It’s a great little box.

I highly recommend this box! The craftsmanship was nearly perfect! The finish, the hinges, the smoothness of the natural wood in the inside…I mean it is exactly what I needed and was looking for. It was a bit on the pricey side considering I needed it for a project but I could not be more happy with it!! The lid did show a few scratches on it but since I was customizing the box it wasn’t a huge deal. I was able to cover up most of them but as you can see from the video there was still one cluster I wasn’t able to hide. I’m sure no one else would even notice it besides a perfectionist like me. FYI: I added the red lining to the inside lid of the box for my custom cigar box to not only give it a bit more of a luxe feel but to also cover up the logo that comes inside of it. The box will come empty, with natural wood, and the logo stamped in it as shown in the product pics.

Presentation and appearance are excellent value. Box has been used to safely keep deeply personal momentos.
