Great motivational tool.
I love my Fitbit. It helps me track my steps throughout the day and can even remind you to move at certain intervals. My boyfriend and I compete to see who walks more in a given day and its been great for both of us. We've started loosing weight and its challenged us to take the next step (no pun intended) and start eating healthier as well. It's nice to have that physical representation of your activity during the day, and it makes you want to get out and walk more to try to beat your previous day's count. I even use it at my desk with my bicycle spinner, I strap it to my ankle and spin while I work. It isn't the most accurate for that purpose but it still allows me to count that towards my day's activities. I had the Charge2 (I lost it) before I got the Flex 2 and I have to say I prefer this one. Charge 2 vs Flex 2: Flex 2 is small and sleek enough that I can wear it all day without it becoming a bother, whereas when I would sit down to work at the computer I would constantly find myself taking the Charge 2 off to be more comfortable. Flex 2 is water resistant so I don't have to remove it when I wash dishes or my hands, which I felt compelled to do with the Charge2 because i didn't want to run the chance of damaging it. Where the Charge 2 beats the Flex 2 is with its capabilities such as the heart monitor and a screen to show time and stats throughout the day, but the you have your phone on you 24/7 anyways those aren't that important. Given the price difference and convenience of the Flex 2, I'd choose it any day over the Charge 2.

Great sleek, slim, and comfortable design to help you get moving!
This is my second Fitbit but my first Fitbit Flex (I have used the One in the past). I really like it and haven't had any problems with the accuracy. I love the community involved when you use the Fitbit brand (challenges with friends and family to keep you going). I REALLY like that this is water proof- I haven't gone swimming with it on yet, but it's nice that I don't have to think about it when I shower or when I'm washing the dishes. It is a relatively small and simple design. There are 5 lights on the top, 4 to indicate the proportion of your daily steps you've done that day (with the goal of 10,000) and the fifth to give you notices. You have to remember what each of the colors is, but I haven't had any problems with that- green to indicate when you're checking on your steps, red to tell you your battery is getting low, and blue or purple when you're getting a phone call or text (I'm not totally sure about these as I don't use them for that). You can connect to you phone to notify you when you get a phone call or text message; you get get hourly reminders to move; you can track your sleep schedule; and what I love the most about is that you can seamlessly change activity type (running, elliptical, swimming, outdoor biking) without manipulating the information on your app. Easy and comfortable. I have definitely found that it has helped me increase my daily steps!

defective merchandise
About 9 months ago, I decided to get a new fitbit and saw a sale on Amazon from 1seller1. Having used this product in the past (flex 2 received as a gift and earlier model from Best Buy store) I purchased this new fitbit flex 2 hoping to motivate more walking-instead I've had annoyances and aggravation from trying to get this to work. Essentially it is junk. When it first arrived it would not charge-pretty much not at all. After hours of having it in the outlet charger to no avail I tried the laptop charger. So, I arranged to return it for a refund and received a refund label (so that was good) but since I could not locate the original packaging was unable to do so. I found the packaging later but it was too late. I have no way to contact this seller. Later, I tried again to charge it as I saw one light and had a glimmer of hope it might work. Having thrown away good money on this product, I tried in vain to get it to work. I managed to get it to appear to have charged it minimally to get a flashing blue light and the occasional buzzing. However, as it turned out, that did not mean it would be "findable" by the fitbit app each time. Only once was it-to my phone app-never the window app on my laptop with the non-blue tooth device dongle--but regardless of the perceived small victory, the battery failed to ever charge sufficiently to sync ever. So my conclusion is: this must be a knock off or one of the"made in china" poor quality and defective merchandise units-- in comparing this seller's product to the ones I previously purchased at reputable stores (which actually managed to work all the time unlike this which never worked) I would like to get a refund but won't hold my breath -despite the UCC which requires a refund for defective products within 1 year. That is a huge drawback to buying on Amazon instead of the old fashioned trip to a physical store. BUYER BEWARE.

Good as a very basic, beginner fitness tracker!
I just upgraded from the Flex 2 to the Versa, so I now feel like I can confidently review this. This is by far the most basic fitness tracker offered by Fitbit. It does NOT track heart rate. You will need to upgrade for that. It is mostly good as a pedometer or just to get a general idea of how much you sleep. Sleep - I initially got this only to track my sleep. I have a sleep disorder so I'm always curious to learn more about my sleep cycles so maybe I can improve them. Well, it does track sleep pretty well. Although if you do stay in one position for a long time it may start counting you as sleeping, which is kind of annoying. But it's actually better than I thought it would be about knowing the difference. The major downside is unlike the ones that track heartrate, you cannot view your actual sleep cycles (REM, deep sleep, light, awake) so that's a big con and didn't actually help me that much for analyzing sleep. Pedometer - the pedometer worked fine for me, but it should be noted that Fitbit is famous for their trackers overcounting steps. So I would probably add a couple thousand steps to your goal to make up for that. Aesthetics - it's actually a pretty cute watch. I got the lavender one and I was surprised by how nice it looked. The downside is that the band started to get kind of old and grimy looking fairly quick. There are a lot of options for replacement bands though for really cheap on Amazon if you need one. An issue for me is the metal tracker inside. I'm highly allergic to non-gold metals, so every now and then if it got too tight it would make my arm break out in a little rash. It wasn't common but it did happen. I don't have any issues like this with the Versa. Charging - this has a long life (about 4 days for me) and it only takes maybe 30 minutes to an hour to fully charge. It's pretty easy to charge...just pop the tracker into a little holder that has a usb at the end that you can plug in to charge. Complaint - probably the worst part about the Flex for me was how the tracker inside the band could too easily pop out. THREE TIMES I suddenly realized, "where is my tracker???" I had to download one of those apps where you can sort of track your Fitbit's location and thankfully it was in the house, but it popped out way too easily and was scary. Bonus - It's waterproof. Besides the Ionic and Versa (the most expensive models), it's the only other Fitibt that's waterproof. This was a big deal to me because I am so scatter-brained, there is no way I would be able to remember to take off a watch every time I took a shower. I know the review sounds kind of harsh, but I actually was very happy with it until I got spoiled by the Versa. I would recommend this more for casual exercise-goers. If you are really into exercise you'll probably want one with a heart-rate tracker. I also think at this point that Fitbit could stand to lower the price a little bit, maybe $40-50.

I LOVE this tracker!
I love Fit bit, and already had a Fitbit One when I purchased the Flex 2. The One I have had for several years & it's been very dependable. I have even accidentally washed it in my washer & it still works (although I wouldn't recommend)! I got the Flex 2, after hurting my back and needing to do aqua therapy. It works great, & tracks my steps & swimming without any problems. Although, be sure when you first get it to go into setting & tell it what you want it to track. It is very lightweight & comfortable. The lights tell you if you got a call or text, but I don't carry my Note to the pool area...so I don't worry about it, until I am done. I wear it all the time (accept while charging), tracks sleep & you can get the same vibration for the alarm. It is much easier than moving everything to the armband for the One. Now I only use the One when the Flex 2 is charging. Both Fitbits sync to one account...you just can't use both at the same time. I use the Flex 2 during swimming, then dry everything off as recommended. I also don't put it in the hottub/whirlpool or sauna, etc at the gym because the high Temps are not recommended. But I highly recommend if you are looking for a tracker.

Malfunctioning only after 3 months
I've had this device since June and I wanted to write this review after using it for awhile. I decided to get a fitbit device because when my hubs and I finally pushed ourselves to be more active and run daily, I wanted a visual of how active I am each day. My phone can measure steps taken but I don't always have my phone on me so I wanted something that I can wear. I picked this one because it had all the functions I was looking for and it was slim (which I love) and affordable. It's a great product and when it works, it works well. I am however only giving it 3 stars because just in the last week, it began to sync weirdly. Last week it recorded more than. Half of my running on the next day (I run around 10~11pm but I know I finished running well before midnight) thus making it look like I didn't work out that day. Otherwise I would have hit my goal of 7 out of 7 days work out. Then today I noticed my fitbit device, despite having run 3 miles, appeared as though I haven't even taken half of my daily goal (which is 9000). When I checked the app, it recorded a much higher number. Then I took additional steps to get to my daily goal (which by the way I easily exceed normally) and checked the app only to find that even after syncing multiple times, it didn't recognize those steps. I am disappointed that it's already malfunctioning, I've only had it for almost 3 months. I'm not sure why it's doing this.

Perfectly understated
I recently started participating in an at-work health program and was very interested in tracking my steps and sleep, so I started researching the Fitbit models. I love wearing/accessorizing watches, so I knew I did not want a Fitbit that was too large or had all of the timekeeping functions. The Flex 2 was absolutely perfect! In addition, I went with the lavender band because I am very fair skinned and wanted it to blend nicely with my skin tone, but also work with different outfits. I will probably be purchasing the navy blue band as well for a little variety. The functionality of the app is excellent. I love seeing the sleep habits and am considering using the water tracking and other dietary functions. It really is way more than I anticipated as far as options for tracking! The battery lasts a loooong time. This first time I was able to go almost 6 full days, but I think it says realistically it's five. That's still great! And it only takes a couple of hours to charge, so charging it at my desk while I'm most sedentary is great. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and especially for the price, I think the features WAY out weigh the cost.

Own it and love it
No matter what Fitbit you already own, I cannot imagine why you would not spring for one of these too. You are able to wear more than one if you are so disposed (one on your wrist and one on your ankle) or like most people do you can leave one upstairs in the drawer and wear your favorite. Then when you pick up the other one it starts to track on that one and the other stops tracking. When you sync your app both will sync. So the reason I recommend this fitbit is that it is waterproof and oh so light. We bought these for our teens so they could compete and also handed down our Altas to them as we bought Blazes. Still they prefer the light weight fitbit flex 2 over the heavier Alta. We bought lots of the bands available on Amazon and the girls love them. My husband and I bought them for our beach trip and the number of pool trips we go on during the summer. The only reason it is not my favorite one is because there are notifications but not more than a different colored light, plus it doesn't count flights of stairs (like the Blaze). So if you are really connected to your texts and emails this may not be the fitbit you want.

not what expected
t compatable to computer not only not compatable I was told by the first tech that Windows 7 (which I was using was not compatable but will work on Windows 7) therefore I had hired a tech to switch my computer to windows 7 and lo and behold this different tech informs me that "fitbit 3" does not work with computers. I am now out $100 and have asked FITBIT to refund my one hundred dollars and they will not oblige. This is not my fault only followed FITBITs advice. My advice to potential shoppers .......be ware .....Fitbit will not back up their faulty advice. Mlckey Nazarov....P/O'd customer and reluctant to shop fitbit again.

Buen producto

The item is defective. It is not charging.
The delivered item is defective. It is not charging. For some reason I am unable to return it even though it has been only delivered 3 days ago. I paid about 3 times what the item cost because it has been discontinued by Fitbit. It is extremely disappointing that they would sell items that are not functioning.
