LEABAGS Oxford - Messenger Bag Briefcase Laptop Bag 13 Inch Genuine Leather

After just 4-6 months the bag has served me well, looks good, smells good. Sad to say that the stitching is insufficient, and is unraveling where the shoulder strap meets the bag. I’m gonna do my best to return it. See the photos for evidence.

First let me say the design is great. However after a few weeks I finally realized I would show up to work with embarrassing stains on my khakis. The black dye of the leather rubbed off on my pants during my two block walk to office from the train. This is a messenger bag and it clearly sits on your hip. Seems well made other than the dyes. Also...they dye doesn't wash out of your clothes. I'm out five pairs of khakis because of this bag. I guess that's what I get for buying a $120 bag instead of $300. I really hope they fix this problem, because their bag designs are on point.

I ordered 2 of these bags by mistake (thanks to the one-touch ordering and a too-sensitive touch screen). I am so pleased with this bag, though. I was starting a new job and wanted something that looked professional but not fussy, and would be big enough to carry a laptop and reference books/notes. This was a great purchase, the (buffalo) leather is pretty thick but soft/nubuck; lots of pockets; and the straps are totally adjustable. It is large (which is why I got it); which is great for laptops, etc. The price was great, too, when compared to similar bags. I loved it so much I never even returned the duplicate, gave it to a friend for a gift and she loves it too. The leather smell is strong, but not in a bad way, just should be aired out maybe for a few days before using (but not necessary). This bag would be great for either a male or female, and has a casual business feel to it.

I was extremely hesitant about purchasing this bag, however I have been thoroughly impressed. I purchased the black which is closer to a dark slate which I like. The feel is extremely soft but almost rubbery. The straps, magnets and hooks are all bronze. The inside material is a black felt like material. I was surprised at how many pockets are within this bag... 6. One zip in the front as you open up the magnetic section which is the size of two iPad Mini's. Then the main storage area has a zipper (with pull-tab for ease) to protect contents. In the inside main compartment is an iPad sized pocket with a small Velcro tab (which annoyed me; why use magnets everywhere else but here?? Cost cutting I guess...). Attached to this pocket is a pocket large enough for an external hard-drive / phone, followed by a slimmer pocket for a small cable I guess, followed by 3 pen loops which fit up to a sharpie in width (snug). Then the main compartment area which is more than sufficient for a laptop, and a couple of thin folders / books. Next to that is another iPad sized zipped in the side wall. Now on the outside is a hidden magnetic closing sleeve for larger documents (newspaper I guess). Then on the exterior is another dual iPad Mini sized zipper pocket. The strap is so-so but like one user stated; this can be cut off and replaced however the conundrum is why am I paying a bunch of money for an item that is not perfect... Well, nothing will be perfect but this professional, clean-looking messenger bag is something that more than satisfied my needs and is definitely worth the money.

The bag that is made by LEABAGS is very nice, but I warn you about the false advertising by Amazon. The picture on the website is not correct.I bought the bag because it had small lettering on the bottom corner of the flap (as shown on the website picture), however the one I received from Amazon has very large lettering of LEABAGS on the left side of the flap going from the bottom to the top. This takes away from the style of the bag.

UPDATE***July 2017***LEABAGS customer service contacted me and offered to send me an alternative bag of my choice, no charge. I chose their Sanford bag which arrived yesterday. Again, beautiful leather and excellent construction...and the Sanford is just the right size :) I really appreciated LEABAGS paying attention to my original review and working with me to find a better bag for me. Don't hesitate to purchase one of their bags or contact them if you have a question about one of their products.ORIGINAL REVIEWNot sure why amazon thinks this is shoes?!... The bag is well-made. The leather is excellent quality... unsealed/raw. It's a heavy-ish bag to begin with and then add in a 13" laptop and a binder and carrying it on one shoulder is rough. I'm 5'5 and slim and it feels too large/bulky for me. That's my only complaint... just too big/sturdy/heavy for comfortably carrying around.

A beautiful leather bag, much lighter than I expected. I bought it to carry my photograph portfolio which includes both 8X10 and 11X14 pictures in plastic sleeves. Everything fits in the bag perfectly (if you don't zip up the large main pocket). My only minor reservation is with the leather shoulder strap which, by the way, seems to be very strong. The edges of the strap look like they were cut with a dull knife --- a bit ragged. The rest of the bag's edges are beautifully done.

Really nice feel to this messenger bag. Will easily fit my MacBook Air and mini iPad as well as other items I usually need to carry. really soft material and I would recommend you use a protective spray on this product

Update:ich habe bei der ersten Tasche bemängelt, dass die Öffnungsschnalle forne sehr hart und unwertig erscheint. Zudem fande ich das Leder sehr steif und nicht wertig. Ein weiterer Kritikpunkt war, dass der Tragegurt nicht sehr wertig erschien und eigenschaften eines Anschnallgurtes aus dem PKW ähnelt.Darauf hin schickte mir einige Monate später der Verkäufer eine neue Tasche.Diese hatte ein serh schönes, weiches Leder mit einer neuen Öffnungsschnalle (forderer Teil der Tasche). Die Qualität ist komplett neu überarbetiet und macht jetzt einen ganz anderen Eindruck.Zudem sendete der Verkäufer mit einen Brief - Handgeschrieben!Mit der Frage, ob mir die Tasche nun so gefällt.Ich muss sagen, dass der Hersteller alle meine Kritikpunkte aufgenommen hat. Ich vermute zwar, dass ich nicht der einzige war, der die Punkte bemängelt hat. Jedoch spielt das für mich keine Rolle, denn meine Anliegen wurden gehört und verbessert.Daher ändere ich heir meine Bewertung und gebe für diesen Service volle Punkzahl!Alles in Allem hat Leabags jeden meiner Kritikpunkte aufgenommen und verbessert. Ich habe zu jeder Produktänderung einen von Hand! geschriebenen Brief bekommen und konnte die abgeänderten Produkte ausgiebig testen.Zunächst dachte ich, dass der detaillierte Rezession keine Beachtung geschenkt wird. Kam heute an und war somit schnell da.Der erste Eindruck ist wirklich gut und macht echt was her.Der stauraum ist gut und man bekommt alles rein.Und man kann sie auch hinstellen, was sehr praktisch ist.Hatte Angst, das es abfärben könnte und habe es daher mit einem weißem Tuch abgerieben aber es ist nicht verfärbt gewesen und somit einfach nur klasse.Farbe sieht auch gut aus.Länge des gurtes ist vollkommen ausreichend nur leider ist keine Schutz dran.Den muss man sich extra dazu Kaufen.Aber für 100 Euro ist das noch ganz o.k.Durch die Fächer an und in der Tasche ist immer alles organisiert und man sollte daher immer Wissen, wo alles liegt ^^So erst mal zum ersten Eindruck.Update folgt...1. Update. Schon nach wenigen Wochen kaputt!!!Ich dachte erst, dass die anderen Rezension Ausnahmen sind. Aber nun hat es mich auch getroffen.Vorne am kleinen Fach geht sie kaputt und das ist für 100 bzw über 100 Euro nicht akzeptable.Zumal damit geworben wird, was das doch für eine gute Qualität sei und Verarbeitung...Mal schauen wie die Problem Lösung aussieht...2. Update.Der Service ist einfach top.Zum einen war der Mitarbeiter bei der Problem Lösung total freundlich und haben es ersetzt bekommen.Und bin jetzt voll und ganz zu frieden.Genaus so stelle ich mir eine Tasche für den Preis vor und sie tut genau was sie soll und sieht echt schick aus.Das mal Fehler passieren ist nicht, denn leabags ist zu 100% für jeden Kunden da.Da können sich andere ein Beispiel daran nehmen :)

Material / Verarbeitung:Das macht alles einen sehr guten Eindruck und es fühlt sich auch wirklich angenehm an. Das Leder habe ich mit dem von Leabags eigenen Pflegemittel (Öl) behandelt bevor ich das erste mal damit rausgegangen bin. Es braucht ein bisschen Zeit, bis es eingezogen ist, gibt dann dafür auch ein besseres Gefühl ;)Einige haben hier geschrieben, dass die Tasche abfärben würde oder Nähte aufgehen würden. Nun bislang konnte ich keins von beiden feststellen - Tasche ist auch erst seit knapp zwei Wochen im Einsatz. Sollt eines dieser Phänomene auftreten werde ich meine Rezension anpassenManchen mag es egal sein, mir ist es sehr positiv aufgefallen: durch das feste Material ist die Tasche steif genug, dass sie nicht zusammen fällt, wenn man sie leer irgendwo hinstellt.Größe / Volumen:Positiv ist, dass es viele kleine Möglichkeiten gibt Dinge unterzubringen. Im großen Mittelteil gibt es genug Platz für ein 14“ Notebook, 15“ wird vielleicht auch passen. Außerdem ist im Mittelteil eine Art Extrafach da passt gut mein 10“ iPad rein.Auf dem Bild ist ein 15,6“ Notebook in der Tasche, es ist etwas fummelig es dort rein und wieder raus zubekommen. Ich rate daher eher davon ab die Tasche mit einem 15“ Notebook zu benutzen.Farbe:Nun das muss jeder für sich selbst entscheiden. Ich habe Muskat finde die Frabe schön. Sie ist sehr dunkel, man erkennt immer noch gut, dass es braun ist und es besteht keine Gefahr, dass es für Schwarz gehalten wird.Fazit: bislang konnte ich nichts negatives an der Tasche feststellen. Sie ist angenehm und wertig, ich würde sie wieder kaufen.PS: Ich habe die Tasche selbst bezahlt und wurde von niemanden zu dieser Rezension angestiftet ;)

(Mrs O is reviewing)I bought this for my partner as a 40th gift (he wanted a nice bag) and was crossing my fingers that the quality would be sufficient. I was not disappointed. I feel that the price accurately reflects the quality. It looks like a £180 bag and I probably would have paid that for it, had it not been on sale for £60 less.Obviously he hasn't had it for very long, so it has not been time tested, but on inspection, everything is well made and carefully considered. There are plenty of pockets and compartments for storage, the leather strap is backed with with canvas webbing. (useful, as many of the bags I looked at had problems with leather treatment/dye rubbing off on clothing) and there is a zip closure as well as magnetic clasps to keep it shut.The strap can be shortened to half the length as nothing prevents the buckle from moving along it.It was bought as a work bag and is big enough to to fit a 15" laptop and A4 clipboard as well as other items. (Though it's not a laptop bag so I don't know if you could expect the straps to take the strain of one, daily.) In my opinion it's an excellent quality, beautiful, but very functional bag that I expect to look better with age, and to last. No doubt I will update if this is not the case.I feel the one star review is unfair, given that there is no comment on the actual bag. It makes an impressive gift and Mr O loves it, which is obviously the most important thing. No regrets.(Dvd and 6'2" man included in photos for scale.)(In case anyone wonders about my purchasing ability, my family own a designer handbag/accessories boutique. I'm not a noob.)

Beautiful quality soft leather. This was a gift last Christmas and after a year it’s still in perfect condition, just starting to take on a bit of character. All stitching has lasted well despite being used daily.A really good quality item. Well worth the price tag.
