Q: May be an odd question but timely: Could these be inserted into homemade "medical" masks?

In brief, no. The material is great but the size is too small (and they are costly because you are paying for a precise cut). The material is very safe and filters well (I can not say if it is easy enough to comfortably breath through), mask inserts seem to be 4x5 or 5x6 inch. These are cut to be exactly 2 1/8" x 1 7/16" so they precisely fit the intake port of a certain cpap machine. A (powerful?) pump pulls the air through and delivers it to the headgear.

Q: These only have one fuzzy side. the other side is stiff and smooth. the resmed ones are fuzzy on both sides. wondering if that makes a difference?

I noticed that also and don’t know why other than these are thicker than the resmeds and maybe they work better when they are made like that. These seem to be good quality but I wonder if they are really HEPA certified. If they were I think it would say True HEPA on the package somewhere like it does on our room purifier with a True HEPA filter.
