Worst product I ever purchased from Amazon, I don't think i ever have written a review but this is trash tier. Made so cheaply and you have to pull the sliding door open 100% of the way to make the spider jump which basically never happens, people open it half way and peak in. Garbage, do not buy

Part of the top is broken but it isn’t worth the hassle of returning. I will try glueing it.

Great reasonable priced scary trick toys

A simple box with a hopping spider! It served its purpose (gee, he knew a spider would lunge out and still almost jumped out of his skin)! But the box quality is low, despite the seller info stating, "WE HAVE THE QUALITY YOU DESERVE!" (Hmm. Maybe they think I deserve LOW quality?!?)Pros:- Fun.- Spider jumps out FAST!- My adult son almost peed himself.Cons:- Box quality is low. Simple soft wood design with no real finish or smoothness to it.- Box lid is a poor fit (slightly narrower than it should be, unfinished edges so it doesn't slide easily). So sometimes it catches "sideways" and the surprise is spoiled.- My adult daughter was unfazed by it.In short: I don't regret the $6.99 I paid for it, but not a keeper. Should I ever need another one, I'll look for something better.

This spider box is well made; palm size, not too big, not too small, real wood. A sympatico feel. But i still have to give only one star: The mechanism is measured in a way, that "the spider" just hops out, after the lid has been opened for almost 3/4 of the way in its sliding movement. By then, everybody has already spotted the spider. It comes around the bend down in the box really slowly. In other words, you see it coming from a mile away. And it is NOT sudden! If they would have put the axle a bit further to the back, it would work much better. It's a shame. I liked it. But "shock" or "shreek" .... it is not! More like slider strolling around the corner.
