If your motorcycle have extra motorcycle case, one size up would be better. Measurements of XXL cover (L*W*H): 96" * 41" * 49".

Does anyone know how well this xxl size fits on a 2018 honda crf250l rally? length of bike is 87''. or should i get the xl size?

But it is not recommended to use it in strong wind, any cloth will rub against the motorcycle surface in strong wind, and long-term friction will damage the painted surface.
