Q: Is this a Cardinals hat or a NY hat like the picture shows?

Cardinals hat. Just like the image. Bought it for my husband after looking for about a year for this exact hat. He couldn't have been happier!

Q: How do I convert inches to hat size is there a size chart? My son is about 22.5"

This website has a pretty good size chart. http://www.billioncreation.com/size-charts/. Your son sounds like he is between a size 7 1/8 and 7 1/4. We'd recommend going up to size 7 1/4.

Q: Is this an authentic official on field hat?

I'm watching the game right now and the official hats worn by the players have the New Era flag embroidered on the side. It would be a replica if it didn't have it.

Q: not sure how to size?

Go to the New Era Website. Scroll down and click on New Era 101. This will bring up the various types of hats. Example, a 5950 Hat is listed. If you click on that, it will bring up information on how to measure your head size. Then scroll down to find your size and continue with the further instructions.
