Love this! Purchased to use with my maple syrup. It works as described. Very easy and simple to spread the sap across the plate needing only a couple drops. I then used the enclosed dropper to spread it but not sure it is necessary. I found it only uses a few drops of syrup to check brix. A lot less syrup from the hydrometer I previously used. This is easier to use and cleans easily. The instructions were enclosed but only for honey. I wish there were better instructions but I googled to obtain further information for syrup. The size fits in my hand nicely. There is an adjustment to read the charts without my glasses. There is also an enclosed tool to adjust the chart. The instructions are enclosed for that. I would recommend this.

Easy to use
Great price. Came with eaay to follow dirw tions. It was factory calibrated. They give directions to re-calibrate. I used the suggested olive oil and it was spot on. We make maple syrup for fun. Never have enough to float a hygrometer. This refractometer works great. Quick and easy to use and eaay to clean. I heartily recommend it.

This refractometer works fantastic for measuring brix and water content in my honey harvests. Calibration was quick and easy. Then cleaned up and took a reading with my latest honey harvest. First reading sample was at 18.5% water content. Just perfect.

Works as it should. Basic instructions easy to read. Was calibrated upon arrival. Seems pretty tough. It comes with a nice fitting case to keep it safe during storage. Arrived with everything listed
