Makes weather beaten hair ends look healthy
This covers my previously colored a month ago hair beautifully and even shows copper highlights to set off my newly tinted roots.

5 Stars โ Deep, Rich Color and Gorgeous Shine!
I used the Madison Reed Color Reviving Gloss in Espresso, and it completely refreshed my faded dark brown hair. It added the perfect depth and richness without making my hair too dark or flat. The cool, neutral tone helped tone down any brassiness and gave my color a salon-fresh look in under 30 minutes. The gloss was easy to apply, had a pleasant scent, and left my hair feeling soft, smooth, and incredibly shiny. I especially appreciate that itโs ammonia-free and gentle on my hairโno dryness or damage afterward. Itโs ideal for stretching the time between permanent coloring sessions or just giving your hair a boost before a special event. If you have dark brown or black hair and want to revive your color without harsh chemicals, Espresso is a fantastic choice. Iโll definitely be repurchasing!

Great product, terrible container
I have naturally medium brown hair with reddish undertones. Over the past few years I have done a lot of salon coloring to enhance color and neutralize greys, using a brown base with dark blonde for grey highlights. Over time, this gets really expensive, and the color gets brassy after a while anyway. I'm trying to retire at some point so I started looking at other options. I found the madison reed gloss and conditioner at an Ulta. The conditioner was SO messy, and while it did a nice job I did not want brown stains all over my white shower. The gloss is amazing as well-it adds shine and neutralizes brassiness. It also is a messy product and- again- with a white bathroom it leaves stains- so I have learned to use a traditional hair color bottle to apply so I don't end up with big glops everywhere. As others have mentioned it does NOT cover greys. Not to plug another product on this review, but I do use John Freida glaze each shower on my roots and THAT does neutralize greys, if only temporarily. Eventually I'll go back and get my entire head done again, but this keeps me looking decent for a while and lets me color less frequently.

Would Not Recommend
I hate this product. I probably should have read more before I bought it. I thought this was more like a color deposit shampoo for in between full color. It is actually an over-priced, temporary dye job. The directions say to apply to dry hair and wait 30 minutes to rinse. If I am going to do that, I may as well just do a full color. This is also difficult to apply because it is so thick. It claims 1-2 applications. I have chin length hair and no way could I get 2 applications out of this. It ended up being way messier than just coloring and also more spotty due to the thickness not penetrating through all the layers. To do a proper job, it would have taken longer than a full dye job. Gem Lites is a far superior product. I should know better than to try something new.

Perfect for in between coloring or brightening up your natural shade!
Been using this for years in conjunction with Madison Reed's permanent hair color in Matera Marigold. The combo gives me the perfect natural light copper red of my dreams! I get compliments everywhere I go. I will say it makes my hair way too bright/red for my liking until I've washed it once or twice and be careful because it stains things FAST. I find it fades nicely over the course of a few weeks. I use it roughly every 4 weeks, in between coloring. Red is notoriously hard to keep vibrant, and I find that this really does the job without damaging my hair. I wish it was less expensive but I'll continue to repurchase.

Either use the gloss and forget any gel.
A bit too sticky for my hair. It did not pair well with other hair products.

Lovely glaze
This glaze is really pretty. It made my reddish brown color treated hair a little darker than I would have liked but it looked very natural, not orangey like most of the glazes I have tried. It covered my highlights unfortunately but that faded with a few washes. I liked it and it gave my drab reddish brown hair a much needed red boost. Would love it if it was a little lighter but not orange

No shine and a purple scalp
This did not make my hair glossy or shiny. It did make it softer but it also died my scalp and some hair purple. I do not recommend at this price point. Maybe if it was cheaper but it still may not work for you.
