Eset Nod32 Antivirus V.4.0 [Old Version]

Well, spent a couple hours today figuring out why my ESET 4 quit working and gave unhelpful error messages about not being able to update. Apparently, they didn't plan on VISTA SP2 and they do not work together. So, I wasted a bunch of time because this company was NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME with a major release from Windows. Unbelievable. I was already not terribly impressed but hoped it was a good enough product. Silly me.To make such a huge error that must have screwed up many peoples' computers in addition to mine bodes poorly for whatever is going on with this company. (It also gives a message in uninstall that seems to suggest uninstall will fail. That threw me off. I figured you you just need to select "ignore" when that pop up comes up saying you don't have permission to access/stop a key file.)Comparatively, I've had not troubles for some time with either the current Norton products, or with Avast. I would avoid ESET unless you like more hassles to figure out on your PC.Well, there is more since the above post. It seems that I was not able to successfully uninstall the non working ESET from my computer, either. IT's very hard to uninstall. From what I've seen on the internet, I may have to roll back to SP1 just to remove this stupid software, and then reupdate to SP2. Amazing screw up on their part.

The anti-virus and associated protection can be found a lot more affordable. The install was difficult and Eset customer service was contacted only to be informed I needed to download file assistant links.When starting up the pc, Eset Nod32 takes longer than previously used protection. Also purchased additional memory in attempt to ease the upstart.

I WAS THINKING THAT THIS ANTIVIRUS WAS THE BEST BUT IT WASN'T. A WEEK LATER AFTER INSTALATION SOMETHING WENT WRONG WITH IT!! I TOOK CARE OF THE ISSUE BY USING ANOTHER SOFTWARE.

Nod32 is still one of the best antivirus products available, with excellent protection. It simply stays out of your way until a known or suspected malware file appears on your PC. It also has very low resource usage, so does now slow your PC. Nod32 also works with Windows Home Server 2011. Product renewal is also very reasonable, at $29.99.

After using Norton for several years and noticing how it constantly would drain more and more of my system resources I decided to get rid of it. I did some research and Nod32 came up at the top of many lists of great AV software so I picked it up.Installation was easy and I've been running it for about 3 weeks now without any issues. It protects my computer and runs quietly in the background without making a dent in my system resources.Overall, this thing is awesome.

I had to re-install eset and it would not accept key. asked for help but got none. I thus recommend not to buy eset, especially if you might need help at some point.

Try to use this product with my new widows 7 machine,and it crashed my system every time, and it was veryslow. Would not buy it again.

I agree with Edmac: after upgrading to V4 on my older pc, CPU utilization jumped during scans and my computer becomes unusable. I have tried to schedule scans for middle of the night using the scheduling feature but these scans still kick in at seemingly random times, so I've started disabling them during the day to see if that stops the problem.NOD32 used to offer two substantial advantages over competitors: fairly comprehensive virus detection and great efficiency (because of the way the software is written, it was not a resource hog). Now it's a resource hog.I plan to restore V3 on my primary computer.
