Awesome little helper!
I am a curly fries fanatic, so I had the idea of making my own curly fries and started looking for a kitchen tool that helps me do that. I found this spiralizer after a couple of minutes of research and the reviews were convincing so I decided to get it and give it a try. I was not disappointed! I make my own curly fries and sweet potato curly fries! My friends and family love it! My girlfriend is a vegetarian and she finds it very helpful and awesome! Also it's a great way to make things interesting. Carrots, zucchini, potatoes you name it! We love this little machine! Easy to clean easy to store away! i highly recommend it!

The Perfect Kitchen Companion for a Healthy Diet
I had been looking for a tool to help me create tasty and new foods for my Whole 30 diet and this fits the bill well. It is easy to use, clean, and is compact enough to fit in even the tiniest NYC kitchen. I look forward to using it to make zucchini noodles for my family and artfully chopping carrots for beautiful salads. This tool is an excellent addition to anyone's kitchen. It's also fun to use and opens up the opportunity to utilize vegetables in fun and aesthetically pleasing ways. I will be using this often.

Works great. It's probably not much different from all the others for sale online. Most seem to work on the same premise. Assembly and cleaning are no problem. Gosh, you've got spirals in less than a minute.

Not my favorite....
I bought myself the oxo spiralizer, and I absolutely love it. I bought the scharfpro folding spiralizer for my mother in law because it got great reviews and it folds to fit in a smaller space, so I thought it would be a nice fit for her. If I had never used another spiralizer I would have probably given this a higher rating, but compared to my oxo, this one just wouldn't cut it for me personally. The suction cups on the bottom didn't work terribly well, so that when we were cutting harder veggies (sweet potatoes) it would slip along the counter. The other difference is that the oxo has a handle on the side to help you push the veggies forward, and this one does not, which means you have to push harder on the handle to keep everything moving forward. And, this may be me being picky, but I just didn't like the shape of the 'noodle' it was cutting. They came out flat and the one I have at my house cuts them in a more square/round shape. I wish I had taken a picture of it to compare. I wouldn't buy it again, I would go for the oxo. But, if you don't ever use the oxo you'll never know the difference and you'll probably be mostly satisfied :)

Super Spiralizer!
ScharfPro Folding Vegetable Spiralizer - Three Blades - Compact and Heavy-Duty Spiral Vegetable Slicer - Turn Zucchini, Carrots, Potatoes and much more into Beautiful Long Strands (Gray) Love this product! I have been looking for a spiralizer that was sturdy, easy to store, and strong enough for my all time favorite sweet potato "noodles" and this is the ONE! It also does a great job with zucchini and squash. The blades are stored right in the folding unit, so you never have to worry about hunting them down, or losing them. Product is easy to clean and simple to use. I anticipate this will get frequent use for years to come!

Flimsy & poorly engineered
Wow, we bought this based on all of the positive reviews and were so disappointed. We don't think that it's too much to ask of our kitchen implements that they actually work as advertised. This item is too flimsy for its intended job. Because it's light weight and has no second push/leverage handle to accompany the turning handle, it shreds the vegetables and fruit instead of spiralizing it. Yes, we tried it with the thick blade and got only shredded ingredients. The turn handle doesn't seat well in its slot and tends to pop out on its own, which is annoying at best. There are much sturdier countertop spiralizers out there with leverage handles that will produce all of the spiral cuts that a home cook might need/want. One worthy contender is the Paderno Pro Spiralizer. It weighs in at almost 3 lbs, folds up for storage and includes 4 cutting blades. Paderno World Cuisine Spiralizer Pro, 4-Blade If money is no object, then there are the Rouet type commercial spiralizers. However, at more than $400 for this type of spiralizer, you could buy a Kitchenaid stand mixer AND the Kitchenaid spiralizer attachment. With the KA stand mixer and its attachments. there's so much other food prep functionality than simply slicing vegetables and fruit...ahem. World Cuisine Rouet Spiral Vegetable Slicer [World Cuisine ] Because we have a Kitchenaid stand mixer already, we bought the slice, peel, core & spiralize KA attachment. It's a beast and should last as long as everything else associated with our KA stand mixer - a lifetime. KitchenAid KSM2APC Spiralizer Plus Attachment with Peel, Core and Slice, Silver

ScharfPro Spiralizer - Too Hard to Use
The ability to fold it and tuck it away in a drawer after use is a good feature. But, for me, it is too hard to use. Requires more strength than I have, especially on carrots. I don't particularly like the core from the vegetable being spiralized that it creates, although I can use the core and any leftover part of the vegetable in any vegetable or stew-like dish I might be making at the time. Because of the difficulty in pushing the vegetable through the spiralizer holes, the suction cups don't work well to hold the device in place. It may be that I just don't have the strength necessary to use this device. I will probably give it away soon and see about purchasing an electrical spiralizer.
