Tastes great
This Heavy Cream powder is really good. It tastes good and I use it sometimes in my coffee as it's a little pricey to use every day. It's very shelf stable unopened and is good to last a long time. I mix it with water to use in all recipes that call for heavy cream and can't tell the difference in that and fresh cream. It can clump some, so I stir it with a whisk or a milk frother ( use a deeper container when using a frother - it will splash out otherwise.)

Would buy again. Good stuff.
Finally as a carnivore I can have great gravy's and waffles. Good stuff. Little pricey.

Good substitute for those looking for a shelf stable version of heavy cream for their coffee
I purchased this product first and foremost for my coffee as a shelf stable alternative to refrigerated heavy cream and also for cooking and baking. As a former school trained chef I am particular in my tastes but in all honesty I was not expecting this to taste like fresh heavy cream. After reading the review about lumps, I took the advice of others and mixed about a teaspoon of hot coffee in the cup before adding the rest. It took a while to dissolve all the lumps with stirring...a slight annoyance but not enough to discontinue using the product. Even with all the stirring, a few small lumps were floating on the top when I added the rest of the coffee. A teaspoon of the powder gave me the right color for my coffee. The mouth feel was spot on for heavy cream and I spent the rest of the time finishing my cup trying to decide if I could tell the difference from the two. As others had commented, I did notice a grittiness at the very end of the cup, the last tablespoon or so. I decided to make my next cup with fresh heavy cream to see the difference. I added about a tablespoon of fresh heavy cream to my cup. Same color, same appearance. Mouth feel was the same but there was a definite difference in the taste, not sweeter but the dairy flavor I picked up with the fresh cream was most likely due to the milk sugars. That being said all in all I think this is a good product for those looking for a shelf stable alternative to heavy cream for their coffee. The flavor was close enough that I needed to make a cup with fresh cream to taste the difference. One star removed for the grittiness at the end and the lumps that take a lot of stirring to remove. I will purchase this product again.

Good cream, good company
I love this stuff! The flavor is good, maybe a little sweeter than fresh cream. I put it in coffee, and also use it for cooking. (I never have milk in the house. If a recipe calls for milk, I use half cream and half water.)I bought it for camping and for emergency prep; but I use it at home sometimes, just to finish off the jar before it expires. It keeps for a year or more even after the container is opened. When it turns yellow, I figure it's time to throw it away and get more.Mixing it is kind of funny: the powder is so light, it floats on top of the water for quite a while. If you want to make one pint of cream, use a 2-pint container with a tight-fitting lid. Then you can get the cream and the water in there, close the lid, and shake it. It will take an hour or so to fully rehydrate. Giving it another shake every 10-15 minutes will help.I've also ordered cheddar cheese powder, and several kinds of dried vegetables, from this company. I've been happy with all of them. Amazon had some trouble with my last order, but the nice folks at Hoosier Hill got it straightened out. Bon appetit!

High Quality Product.
My husband and I bought this for a camping trip because we like cream, real cream in our coffee, I had tried powdered milk, but I may as well be adding water to my coffee, and so we looked in to buying some powdered cream and this was the best deal that we could find. I really like that the ingredients are just freeze dried cream, nothing more. I was a little bit weary of the taste, I thought it might taste weird, being it is dried, so I gave it a few different test to see how it fared.I first tried it with instant coffee, and it had a weird taste to it, and I was not impressed with the flavor of the cream, it tasted like cooked cream essentially, and I was very underwhelmed. Then, I tried it with real coffee, fresh brewed, and I had quite a different experience, it taste just like normal cream, maybe not really fresh cream, but it was perfect. I had it 3 days in a row like that, and it was perfect every time. I went back home and tried it with instant coffee again just to see what it would be like, and the answer is that it was definitely the instant coffee, it was the same as the first time I tried it. If you use this with an instant coffee, use it with a high quality one, mine was not, and it effected the flavor of the cream. As others have stated, it works best for mixing if you initially mix it in a small amount of liquid(preferably hot) before incorporating with your whole batch of anything. You don't need to make a paste, but about 4 parts water to 1 part cream should be good for mixing initially.I will definitely be ordering this again for use while traveling with my coffee, I am very impressed with it, and I plan on trying some of this companies other stuff as well, I am excited to do so, I hope they are as good as this cream.God Bless ~Amy
