Bad fit wood is slightly warped where it mounts so overall fitment is not that desirable.

Just perfect and easy to install

This mantle is beautiful, sturdy, and easy to install.... Once you look up the instructions online! It comes with nothing.... And I mean nothing, in regards to install instructions. Go on YouTube though and you will find a great video that shows just what you need to do.

Mantel came with no installation instructions and mounting hardware so undersized that I question who designed/packaged these. I replaced the hardware with larger and longer screws to anchor into the wall stud. Even without instructions it was obvious to me how to mount.Once on the wall, the top surface of the mantel was bowed. In looking at the construction, it looks like they forced the top board into place with badly shaped supports on the inside of the mantel. This did not impact the hanging of the mantel.Simply hanging the mantel, it rocks excessively forward and back. I watched a video that shows to nail through the top surface into the mounting ledge.Finally, the gap between mantel and wall was excessive due to how much the mantel rocked forward. I caulking the gap to finish it off.Overall, you get what you pay for. This is not high quality out of the box. Construction is not done well. It is nice and fine for what it is.

We had no issue installing the mantel. Our main issue was there are no studs behind our fireplace wall. I called Mantels Direct to see how to install if we could not bolt this through the wall and was told we could use industrial glue but we opted for industrial velcro tape which holds 66+ lbs. We also used a couple of screws to support the wood bar. The mantel looks great except the mantel shelf is not flush against the wall. There is a slight gap but I can live with that.
