Wilson Old School Skull Cap Black

Simple old-school helmet for use with traditional catchers masks. Just a plastic shell with foam padding, so nothing to go wrong. Fits a reasonably wide range of size, with about 7 1/4 as midpoint. Great value for the low price. Can get hot, but even at its worse it’s still miles cooler than hockey style masks. Bought the ventilated model too for when it’s really scorching.

Got this on a warehouse deal and I love it! I use it to catch in an adult baseball league. My mask doesn’t slide at all and it is really comfortable. It does hold some sweat which will drip down when you slap it on your head to head back out on the field but thats not a big deal to me.

This Wilson Old School helmet was a good solution to the first and third base helmet mandate for my son's travel team (that I coach). We picked up two helmets and they are one-size-fits-most, although they do fit somewhat large so we wear them with our team's soft cap underneath. The flapless design is more comfortable and there is some protection afforded due to their foam padded inside. Overall these were a good buy. While we put our team logo on them to make them look a bit more cool, I now affectionately refer to my first and third base coaches who wear them as The Great Gazoo and Bonk, respectively. Sturdier than a bump cap, not as cumbersome as a hard hat, this skull cap is perfect for everyday use. I will be wearing this all winter long and beyond.

It is a little large for me, but it works just fine. My mask helps to keep it secure. May be a little warm on hot afternoon, but for the price, I recommend it!

I played baseball in the 80's and 90's as a catcher before the hockey mask became popular. I play once a year against guys I grew up with. The skull cap is perfect. It's compatible with the mask I already have and it fits perfect. My hat size is between 7 and 1/4 and 7 and 3/8. I would buy this again if the need arose. Go A's.

The quality is good and styling is what I expected. The 3 stars are for fitment. I wear a 7 5/8 hat and this helmet is pretty snug and it’s also shallow for my head. I’m going to change the foam for a better fitment and see how that goes.

I bought the helmet to use during yard work and mowing as there are lots of low branches that have wacked me in the head. With the helmet I am worry free about damage to my head.
