For riders looking to take it further, the Flat Guard option adds an extra layer of protection with additional rubber through the casing and sidewall, ensuring your tire holds up even during cornering and the occasional curb rub. Twice the rubber doesn’t just mean better protection; it also means twice the lifespan of your tire. For riders navigating the challenges of the concrete jungle, the WTB ThickSlick Bike Tire offers the ultimate balance of traction, protection, and smooth ride quality. Review: If you have an indoor trainer, this is the tire to get UPDATE: took it outside! - I can only review it for indoor usage, so I can't say anything about puncture resistance or even durability. But for indoor use, this is the best tire I've used. I actually got a second wheel and cassette so I could use this tire indoors. I have a basement office that I share with my wife when we work from home and although it's a fairly large basement with several doors between her space and mine, the noise from indoor biking was disturbing her. Which was a problem because I like to hop on my indoor bike at least once a day when I have a bit of break so it couldn't always be afterhours. The worst was when I had my MTB on the trainer. It was converted to a hybrid some time ago with a much gentler looking tires but the noise was still tremendous. Even my road bike with Conti GP 5000TL was noisier than she'd like. But this tire has almost eliminated all wheel/tire noise. The whine from the motor (mag resistance trainer) still remains but it's pretty well muffled by the doors and nowhere near as annoying as it used to be. For me, I can actually hear what the trainers are saying on iFit and hear the sound from Zwift, plus the TV I have playing. Add to that its very reasonable price and it's a winner. As for swapping out the wheels, get something like KMC Missing Link and it's pretty easy. My bike chain actually came with a SRAM link but I didn't know so I have two links on the chain... Oops... So look for that if you go that route. UPDATE: so I bought another one and equipped my Cannondale F29 Caffeine MTB front and back. And I'm really happy. I wasn't sure about the traction of a slick but they grip really well, although the roadway was dry. And the low rolling resistance made pedaling much easier and the bike faster than I remembered. I'm going to upgrade to a lighter wheelset and use the MTB (now a hybrid, I guess) as my touring bike instead of my road bike. I'm really happy with this purchase. Review: Awesome Tire! - I bought these to replace gravel tires on my '98 Trek and so far they're amazing! I ride in the city and the streets are full of all types of glass and debris. Because of the thick tread I'm always confident that I won't get a puncture. As far as rolling speed, they're on the heavier side but they still roll fast! Makes sure to pump them up close to 65psi to get full rolling capabilities. Also, I've seen some concern over grip. In my opinion, they actually feel a bit sticky on pavement. Of course you have to be more careful in wet conditions but isn't that with most tires? For my off roaders, these feel great on packed dirt. I did some gravel/single track and these ate up branches and bumps. They aren't the best in loose gravel since they don't have treads to bite in, but they said, they'll still work if youre extremely careful.

Smooth
Was using a mountain bike to mount it on a stationary bike trainer. The mountain bike tires made so much noise so I decided to get this tire. Ever since I installed this, it feels so smooth, quiet and less rolling resistance. Ride is smooth. The quality of the tire did not disappoint. Lovin' every bit of it. If you use a bike trainer, get this tire to mount on your bike.

Must have if you use a bicycle trainer indoors.
This thick slick tire is a must have if you have a mountain bike and you use your bike indoors on a stationary bicycle trainer. This tire has no tread, very smooth. I got my bike on a bicycle trainer in the garage, and what they don't tell you is that the tensioner on those bicycle trainer goes again your back wheels and it creates a horrible loud sound as you pedal in place, because the tire treads are hitting it; however with this tire, the sound when from 1000 to like 5 on the scale on the loudness. Now when I pedal is very quiet in the garage compared to before. The tire did not come folded like the typical mountain bike tires, so be ready to receive a full size tire inside a huge amazon box! silly but that is how it came to me. If you have ever installed a new bike tire before, this is no different, super easy, straightforward, I popped the mountain bike tire out , and this on and fits nicely on my 26" frame. The suggested PSI is anywhere between 35 - 55, however for indoor on a stationary, at 36PSI is very solid and I kept it at that and works well. It is a bit pricey , but I think it is worth the money.

Great for a slick city bike
These tires transformed my old mountain bike into a fun and efficient city bike. I pumped them up to 60 psi (65 is the max) and pedaling on pavement and over potholes has never been easier. The thick bulbous shape helps them perform fairly well on dirt and gravel trails as well. I would highly recommend these as an easy way to turn an old MTB into a city commuter. The logo is printed on the inside of the bulge, which leads me to believe that they should stay relatively unblemished for a long time. The look of these tires is DEFINITELY unique and noticeable, with the large branding. People notice and comment on these tires. It's up to you whether you think that's a good thing or a bad thing. Fit: These tires are certainly slick and very thick! Make sure the tubes you pair them with can go larger than 2". These tires are wider and taller and take up much more space than the old knobbly 1.95" MTB tires that I replaced with them. They have a wide range of inflation pressures available, which means you have a lot of control to tune your ride from soft to hard. They shipped in huge full big square boxes (*not* rolled up), and they popped onto my 26" rims pretty easily. Please look up how to change a bicycle tire before complaining about tires being difficult to install; these were very easy to install.

Slick and Morty
These tires are awesome. The low rolling resistance is noticeable compared to my old knobby tires. I'm able to ride around my city in confidence and can now keep up with people with better gearing. They look great too. Lots of people prefer to remove the lettering, but I think the bright white decals give off a great vintage vibe. The rubber feels tough as well. Looking forward to the next ride with these on. Highly recommend.

Good tires
These are nearly as fast and solid as pro level 700c tires. Remember to pump up to 100 psi everyday!

Fast and Smooth!
Tires: 29" x 2.1" Slick Tires Like many, I have a trusty hardtail mountain bike that has seen countless trails. However, since getting an e-MTB for the heavy-duty stuff, I've found myself grabbing my old-school hardtail more and more for road rides and commuting. My journey to these slicks was a gradual one. I first swapped the original knobby mountain bike tires for a set of hybrids. While that was an improvement, I was still looking for better performance on pavement. I finally decided to go all-in on a set of dedicated slick tires, and the difference has been nothing short of revolutionary. The most immediate and noticeable change is the speed. The reduction in resistance is incredible. On my daily 14-mile exercise ride, I have consistently shaved about 7 minutes off my time, making the speedier ride so much more fun, especially up hills. Beyond the raw speed, the improvement in ride quality is what truly makes these tires a winner. The ride is substantially smoother, absorbing the small bumps and imperfections of the road in a way the previous tires never could. This makes for a far more comfortable and enjoyable experience. If you're using a mountain bike primarily on the road, I can't recommend switching to these slicks enough. It's a relatively small investment that completely transforms the bike, making it faster, smoother, and infinitely more fun for pavement riding.

Beauties.
I've ridden many types of tires and bikes, and I can say from experience that these are well made and gorgeous shoes for my girl. Bear in mind they're slicks, so rain will be an issue, but these are tacky yet firm, reinforced tread line with thickness you can feel and zero rolling resistance. Love the simple clean print and how it goes right on to the tread area, very eye-catching and unique. I went with the 700x28 for my single speed, I'm around 190lbs and I like to corner hard so the extra tad bit of contact patch is great and they don't look large at all. I've just installed them and set 'em around 75psi and they felt phenomenal around the block. Will update shortly on wear and puncture along with overall performance.
