I don't chainsaw often, but when I do, I wear Labonville Safety Chaps...
What can I say but an amazing pair of chaps. I don't chainsaw often, but when I do, I want to minimize the risks with cutting myself. Chainsaws are no joke and should be treated with utmost caution. Why buy chaps? Well watch a few videos on how these things can stop a saw from going through your leg, and potentially killing you. I cut wood well over 45 minutes to nearest medical facility in an area with bad or no cell reception. These things are worth every penny for the cheap insurance they provide.I decided on these chaps after doing a fair amount of research, both online and in-person. I sometimes work in lumberjack country, and those guys know their chainsaws and safety equipment. The answer I heard time and time again was Labonville, but to be honest, most guys didn't have too many bad things to say about any of the high quality chap brands. My brother in law has a pair of the Husqvarna pants that are a little more nimble, but in my opinion, don't seem to offer as much protection. We couldn't exactly test that because neither one of us was willing to sacrifice our pants or legs in a test... I'm a big guy, 6'4 240#, and was a little concerned about these chaps because I'm tall up top and short on the bottom with only a 31" inseam. Well, these fit pretty well and went right over the tops of my boots without dragging on the ground and causing a trip hazard. I'd say I would trust the fitting charts and recommend buying suspenders if your lacking in the rear end department like myself. I got the green pair because that's what the pros use but I'd buy the orange ones if I bought another pair. Like the idea of people being able to see the pants no matter where I'm standing.Don't cheap out...BUY YOURSELF A PAIR OF QUALITY LIFESAVING PANTS!!! I didn't want my story to start with "so I cut my leg badly and...". Make sure you do the same!

Good fitting chaps; good protection
Excellent safety chaps for chainsaw work. You're crazy if you work in the woods with a saw without chaps and a hardhat/ear protection/face shield. Anyway, I've had other chaps over the years. These have the best fit so far (last pair were Stihl. I love their saws, but the chaps are mediocre). The Stihl chaps don't wrap the lower leg all that well. I didn't feel well protected in them. They were not that comfortable either. These have a good balance between reasonable comfort and excellent protection. Very affordable as well. Which is very good.

Watershed Restoration Gear
The Labonville Full Wrap Chaps are good fitting, stay secure across the fronts of the legs, and secure the ankle area with the full wrap better than the older design. I like the cordura outer layer for brush deflection and durability and I like that they have no pockets. Extra pockets are just extra weight. I wear mine with a pair of medium duty suspenders that are attached to my Carhartt work jeans in the back and to the waist strap of the chap in front. That really helps spread the weight of the chaps over the whole body for agility on the forest thinning unit. They double as a rain pant, keeping you dry and safe. which is especially helpful when the chaps get wet during rain and snow events when we are burning slash. We buy extra long for anybody 5'9" to 6'. They shrink a little over time in the wet. Great product.

Good must have safty item to have!
Good product! Used a pair , took my eye off my saw for a moment when I was raising it up to cut a large lem and the saw cut out. Looked down and the saw was clogged with stringy material. I had grazed top of my right leg, without the chaps I would have sustained nasty damage to my leg! Will never cut without a pair on again! Cheap at twice the price versus a bunch of operations trying to put my leg together!

If you use a chainsaw, go ahead and pony ...
If you use a chainsaw, go ahead and pony up for some chaps. Cheaper than a visit to the ER and time off of work. Follow sizing instructions and you will be alright. You will sweat in the summer, but helps in the winter.
