Regal Games Standard Wood Chess Board Set With Classic Wood Pieces, 10 X 10 Inch, All Ages

If I played chess on the board, I'd be frustrated with how easy it is to knock the pieces over. But I never planned on using the board. I bought the pieces to harvest for other gaming purposes. Drilling a hole in the bottom and placing a magnet in the base helps keep the pieces upright on a board made of sheet metal.

I wanted my husband to teach me how to play chess. Just wanted a simple, affordable set and that’s what this is. Not very heavy duty but it’s good enough for what we need.

Value for the money is great for this smaller size chess set. Bought this for our 7 year old son who is just learning and excited to play chess. Sturdy wood board and pieces. We didn’t need something super high quality but wanted something better than cardboard and plastic. This fit the bill perfecty.

Great little set. I like the wooden pieces, though they area bit smaller than I thought they would be. Their size could be challenging for someone with dexterity issue.

For the price, you really can’t do any better. The fact that it’s under 10$ and comes with extra queens is sort of unheard of. I would say it’s suitable for any skill level. One or two of the pieces were slightly uneven on the bottom but it’s nothing that sandpaper and a flat surface can’t fix quickly
