Still a great watch for the price
I bought this right before the watch 6 line was announced, but I think I'd still buy this over the new Watch 6 classic. I love the physical rotating bezel, its super satisfying and actually really useful. The Watch 6 line has some nice improvements like better sensors, bigger battery, and stronger glass, but honestly the sensors on this are plenty accurate for regular use unless you're like a professional athlete or doctor, the battery is fine for me, I charge it once every day or two just whenever I feel like taking it off, and with the bezel I think the screen is pretty safe, the bezel kind of protects it. Besides, how often do you drop a watch? It's literally strapped to your arm. The stock band is nice, but I think I'll replace it soon with something a little more comfortable for working out, the silicone gets a little slimy feeling once you start sweating a lot. The sleep tracking is good, but I think the newer ones have software that offer more sleep coaching type features, it'd be nice if they made that available on older models since it seems like its just a software thing, but its not that important. Overall, great value for a watch. I'm glad they brought the rotating bezel back for the 6 Classic, but the 6 is too expensive for me, maybe I'll upgrade when the price goes down someday, but the Classic 4 is plenty for me.

A very good watch to match with your Samsung phone
I really do like my Samsung watch. Very convenient, easy to use, great apps, Bixby is very helpful (once you get used to using), and having the bezel and tough glass works well with my job. The only downside is that the battery doesn't last as long as previous versions. I can only think it's because of the work it's doing tracking my physical metrics. It does have more uses than previous versions. Also, the only area I would put fitbit above this watch is sleep monitoring. I believe my fitbit gave a more accurate record of my sleep than this watch. Otherwise, ever other aspect blows fitbit out of the water.

This is now my Daily Watch.
3 months or so, ago, I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Flip 3 5G. Received a $150.00 Samsung Credit. Since I already have a pair of Galaxy Buds Pro. I sat on that credit. I am a mechanical watch guy. I own at least a dozen or so mechanical watches. Smart watches are really not my thing. I used to wear a Rolex GMT 2 18k for travel. Getting old and wearing a gold watch is too much a target, I bought a Breitling Galactic Unitime. However, that watch is running fast and I need to take that in for service. I paid $800.00 to service a Rolex DD at Rolex Service Center. While the Breitling should charge less, it would still be more than the cost of a smart watch. Due to COVID, I am not travelling, so I let the Breitling in the watch winder. My daily watch was a Rolex DD in white metal. There are quite a number of news about punks robbing folks with nice watches. I do not want to be a potential target. So, I spent my Samsung credit on a Galaxy Watch 4 44mm. I ordered a white one with bigger screen despite I have a smaller wrist as my old eyes need all the help I can get. I ordered it with a regular black band and I am surprised that I would like it so much. Having a Flip phone is cool but able to answer a call with a wrist watch is cooler. I can choose to be Captain Kirk or Dick Tracy. I like the functionality of this watch so much, I purchased the Classic 4 on Black Friday week with a charger. Both watches function about the same but I do like the Classic 4 better. Classic 4 added a rotating bezel which is quite handy. Putting both watches side by side, they look the same size despite one is listed 44mm and the other 46mm. The Classic looks like a watch while the regular one looks futuristic. Both watches wear big and the bands while comfortable do not fit the watch that well. They do not bend at the attaching prongs and created gaps on the wrist. I do wish Google Assistant is on this watch instead of Bixby. I could side load the Google Assistant but I choose to wait for Samsung to install this at a later update. Google Pay works, I like the fact I do not have to pull out my wallet or even my phone to pay. I use World Time, Weather and Calendar on the watch. I do not need to pull out the phone most of the time. Some reviewers are saying that the watch does not hold charge that well. Both of mine would last at least 2 days. I do not set the display to always on. Rotate my wrist would turn the display on for about 5 seconds which is long enough to read the time. I wore my watch sleeping just to check my sleep for fun. I would wake up in the morning and place the watch on its charger. By the time I made breakfast and finished it, the watch would be fully charged. I am a couch potato. My exercise is walking the dog while I dog sit for my son. So, the health functions are more secondary to me but I can see that would be beneficial for others. I do recommend this Galaxy 4 Classic. In fact, either the Galaxy 4 or the Classic 4 would be good. Personally, I like the Classic better but I am not sure it is worth the extra money. One thing that I do need to point out is: - Ordering from Amazon does not allow selection of the bands. Black watch comes with black band and white watch comes with white band. However, the band I received is sort of light gray color. Just be aware that the watch bands that come with the watches are large sizes. I have a 6.5 inches wrist. While I can use the large band by using the first hole, it looks ridiculous. I swapped the bands on the watches. Now, the Classic 4 has the regular black band and the other one has the large grayish band. I do not need two of the very similar watches so I am going to pass it on to one of my family members. Just be aware while the price in Amazon might be better, you do not have a selection for bands in color or size. BTW. Not all carriers support eSIM on a smart watch. Google Fi does not so I did not get one with LTE. Glad that I noticed this before I purchased the watches as that would be a waste of money. If you want a LTE version, I suggest you check your carrier first.

Great Watch, Poor Battery
Pros: +Working bezel sets this apart from other smart watches +Super customizable with 3rd party bands and watch faces, app locations, etc. +WearOS gives you access to so many apps including Habitica, Roku remote, google apps, etc. +All health essentials through Samsung health +Works great with any android, so long as you download the Samsung apps. +Bluetooth earbud pairing with downloaded music playlists and podcast make this a gym rat's treasure +The price in 2024 can't be beat for this quality. You can buy the newer models for 3x as much and avoid the 2 negatives, but this one in my opinion does so much already and looks way more classy. Cons -Bezel gets scratch up easily because it protrudes but this is true of any bezeled watch Sidenote: Get a screen protector. This is a no brainer but even with the bezel you will need one. -Battery lasts 24hrs if you are using the watch moderately. On my first day constantly playing with it and seeing what it could do the battery drained fast, maybe lasted 4-8hrs but once I got used to it and integrated it into everyday life, it lasts 24hrs. If you can fit in an hour of charge a day you can stretch it to a few days before needing a longer charge. For those who have an inconsistent schedule, you will want a different watch. It will die on you and you will be leaving it at home to charge every other day unless you can fit in that hour of charge. Half my job is book work so I can charge it while at my desk so consider if this is right for your lifestyle. Also, you will want the screen brightness around 45% for that balance of visibility and battery life. I do keep my watch face on because I want my watch to look like a watch and not a dead circle on my wrist when out in public and it still lasts me around 24hrs.

Very nice!
I've always preferred a chunky sports watch but this machine is so much more. I've never used NFC because it's a pain in the backside. It's a couple of taps on the watch now. The watch has a ton of apps and you can add more if you need them. I think it counts steps a lot more accurately than my Garmin. It also has a pile of available watch faces it only takes a few taps to change out and customize. I really like this watch a lot better than any I've ever had, including my Garmin to which I'm still attached. Update: this watch shares one annoying habit with my Garmin. If you're pushing a lawn mower or a grocery buggy, it doesn't count steps at all. If you want full credit, you have to push one-handed and the the watch arm swing freely. It's a picky thing, I realize but I'm old enough for every step to mean something (lol)

It Works
I've used this watch for a few months and I find myself going back to my Fitbit Sense. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 has numerous problems. First among them are very poor battery life. I had to recharge this watch every day or risk having it completely discharge while on my wrist. Another issue is with the promised apps (e.g. ECG and blood pressure). They do not work....period. Both apps require you to be "outside the US" and have a Samsung phone in order for it to even be downloaded. Oh yes, there is a convoluted workaround that you can download off the web from a third party but if you have any problems with your phone or change phones you have to go through the whole process again. The blood pressure app is not accurate anyway and you have to keep calibrating the app with a real blood pressure monitor to even use it. Update After 9 Months of Use... Actually this watch has grown on me. At least it works much better than the Fitbit Sense (the Fitbit Sense will not auto-update the hour after crossing a time zone resulting in late/missed appointments). This Samsung works fine in that regard and most everything else on it works correctly. The battery issue is still there but I got around it by dimming the screen a little and turning off "always on" for the display. Still have to charge every morning which is a pain. ECG and blood pressure apps still do not work. I keep a self-wind watch in reserve.

After the first 3 weeks, I am satisfied
1. I love the big enough screen 2. The battery life is good enough if you charge at night. Some buyers were complained that the buttery is not holding long enough. I would suggest them buying a military style watch that has less functionality vs. Samsung but longer periods between charges. 3. I have a Galaxy phone, and after extensive search and comparison, I have decided that this watch is the best fit to my requirements: - large screen - the display that can show several data at the same time (time, weather, numbr of steps total made, etc.) - GPS (after setting the destination, it vibrates and shows every turn); - you can download a music and play songs while you are walking or doing anything; - it synchronizes the alarms, messages, and phone calls, so, you may deny any spam calls or talk directly through the watch like you use the speakerphone on the phone. The sound is loud enough and nobody complained that they can't hear me well. - it has several apps preloaded. You may add more like on your phone. I have added an app for my phone camera to be able to remotely manage it. It is really a fun! - it has several preloaded texts, and you can reply back without typing (it has a keyboard similar to the stationary phones). You may add more reply texts to the list if you want. - it synchs your contact list along with the pictures. - and yes, it can measure your health vitals including even a cardiogram that you can share with your doc if needed; - the surprise: a personal assistant that can answer your questions! - calendar with events; - compass; - it can sync with earbuds through bluetooth - more... So, no doubts, you can get a lot for every dollar you spent on this watch. A regular day without intensive usage of GPS or music will leave about 45-55% of the battery juice. It take time to learn how to setup the app on your phone and how actually use all functions of the watch but in the end you will be satisfied!

Export Set But Works As It Should
Upon receiving, noticed the Samsung seal was broken and replaced with dealer’s own seal. The watch looks new with no visible scratches. Used the supplied magnetic charger to charge the watch. Powered on the watch and paired to my Samsung phone using Samsung connect. Not issue with all its functions like Samsung Pay, Sleep tracking etc. Overall satisfied with the watch. Despite being an export set, it costs half as much as a local set.
