UK publication - questionable ingredients, calculator etc
I somehow missed that this is a UK publication. After seeing the positive reviews, I decided on this book vs another publication by a well known US author. This is NOT my first dive into nutrition for athletes. I started to read it slowly from the beginning; I immediately noticed the calorie calculator - if I only ate what those mathematical procedures allow me to, I couldn't get through half a day. At some point I skipped over to the recipes. I don't recall if Ms Bean is a nutritionist, but I do know that sugar is responsible for most of inflammatory health problems, and that canola oil is NOT recommended either (rapeseed in the UK) From that I wonder how much other questionable advice is given and regret having spent money on this.
