How do i know i got the 2020 model and not the 2018 model. all the info on the item just says uhd30?

The uhd50 is the 2018 model. The uhd30 is the 2020 model.

if you buy it from Amazon US, it will come with a standard 110V plug. I'm assuming you need the right power converter or adapter in order to use it on 220v. Check the manufacturer's spec page to make sure it actually supports 220V. Some electronics don't support 220V (I fried my Bose Companion 5 speakers this way) and need separate power converters, but some don't.

How do i use the spdif output without the speaker off icon showing in the top right of the screen?

Menu -> Setup(Cog symbol on left) -> scroll down in setup until you see "Options" -> Scroll down in "Options" until you see Information hide and then turn that on.

Will i need a tensioned screen?

A $270 Silver Ticket Grey 106-inch stretched screen makes a HUUGE improvement. Over the years, many companies have created special paints to improve the wall experience - most no longer exist because a plain wall ALWAYS disappoints. A tensioned screen is not simply "nice," it's a necessity. There is no good reason to buy a 4k HDR projector at this kind of price tag without a screen. A wall does not reflect light well and is not as smooth, reducing color quality and clarity. "The resulting image will look like a snowy TV screen with bad reception at 144p. A quart of even the cheapest of screen paint is half the price of a projector screen." (projectorninja) You'd be better off with a Hisense 65U6G (or TCL 6). I easily assembled and installed my 128" Silver Ticket alone. Highly recommended. I would additionally suggest never using ECO mode. Go for greater brightness and buy a new bulb every few years. Then, the brighter UDH38 has better color, contrast, and lag.
