Renowned guitarist Lee Ritenour pays tribute to one of his idols, the great jazz guitar pioneer Wes Montgomery, on 1993's Wes Bound. One of Ritenour s best sellers, this GRAMMY®-nominated album reached #1 on Billboard s Contemporary Jazz chart.Since the beginning of his career, Ritenour has maintained a delicate balance between the individual creative vision and the group dynamic. His first session work was as a teenager, with the Mamas and the Papas, who dubbed him Captain Fingers for demonstrating incredible dexterity. Throughout the next decade, Ritenour became one of the most prolific session guitarists, working with the likes of Steely Dan, Pink Floyd, Aretha Franklin and Quincy Jones. Ritenour's solo work has earned him a GRAMMY Award and 19 GRAMMY nominations. He has recorded more than 40 albums that have yielded 35 chart songs, and he is widely recognized as one of the best guitarists of his generation.Previously out of print, Wes Bound will now be available digitally and on CD for the first time in years.

Good CD. Don't love all the songs, but enough of them to make it worth owning.

Jazz Legend
Lee Ritenour has done it , again !!!! Achieved Excellence !!! I have loved Wes Montgomery since the early 60's !!! And, like Lee, was sad that so many young fans & musicians were not familiar with his fabulous talent !!! He died too young !!! Thank You, Lee , for this great tribute album !!!

I was a huge Wes Montgomery fan when he was ...
I was a huge Wes Montgomery fan when he was alive, very unhappy when he died, and am thrilled that Lee Ritenour is keeping the sound alive; a totally delightful homage to Montgomery. I have now played this CD many times, and have no inclination to not keep it among my all-time favorites.
