I like the simplicity of this machine. It is very easy to use and adjust and the ocean sounds are nice and soothing. I bought this based off of the reviews of someone else specifically for the ocean sound and it does not disappoint. There is no nightlight feature, which is fine with me - just fyi for someone else.

This came in the nick of time. My old homedics sound machine was slowly dying. I had to turn it almost full volume to get any sound. This one is a different shape that’s easy to hold in my hand. You can either use it with batteries or plug it in to an electric power source. It functions either way just as easily. It’s a great value for my money. I’ve slept with a sound machine for years. Easy to understand directions. It’s of a great quality work. Feels solid.

This machine is a lifesaver! My husband has a hard time sleeping because of the noise of his tube feeding. This helps mask that, and allows him to get the rest he needs to heal. It's sound quality is excellent, and it's very light and portable, making it easy to carry with us when we have to be somewhere else. It's a great value for a small price.

I had a Homedics white noise machine that I purchased for the grandbabies, probably ten years ago. My daughter gave it back to me and I used it at least a year until I couldn't adjust the sound as low as I wanted. I gave it away, which I now regret, to our local Share Shack. This new Homedics machine has 2 blue lights that reflect on the ceiling. I changed the location to a covered shelf but it still puts out light. Then this afternoon I went to change from Brook to Ocean. It was stuck on Brook. The Ocean key was a little bit off, and I had to reposition it with my fingernail and now it's OK. Now a big deal, but I expect a new machine to be perfect. I wish I hadn't gotten rid of the old Homedics, and just put it under the bed for a lower sound. I thought about giving this one to family as a gift, but I'm not sure after the issue with the stuck key.

This was expensive for what it was!! I’ve got other cheaper ones which had a much bigger selection of sounds. Also when it turns off it’s not gradual but a click which woke me up! Surprised as homemedics are normally very good

** UPDATE: this noise machine is still going strong EIGHT YEARS LATER with daily use. We have multiple machines and the quality is consistent. ** ** UPDATE: It’s been five years now, and my original review below still holds true. Incredible product! ** I purchased this noise machine to replace another brand in 2017. We use it every night for both of our children, and it has been foolproof. It has a battery backup that automatically kicks in if the power goes out, which has been very helpful in ensuring continued noise. It also has a timer option for auto shut-off. Lots of options for sounds - we prefer the white noise, rain, or thunder. The volume has a great range from very low (less than a fan) to very loud (drowns out the noise from the highway). I'm impressed with the quality and durability of this little machine. It's been dropped, has traveled with us, and has stood the test of time with two toddlers. If it ever does stop working, we definitely got our money's worth and will re-order.

I bought this sound machine at a local drug store 10 years ago for my son who likes to sleep to rain sounds. He still uses this now, never once broke or had any issues. When I had my second child 2 years ago, I came looking on Amazon for this specific brand because I knew it worked well, and my second child (and now also third) use them nightly! Variety of sounds (boys prefer rain, daughter prefers ocean), wide range for volume, timer option for 15/30/60 minutes or until you turn it off, and can be plugged in or battery operated (I get about 60 days of use at 12 hours/day on cheap batteries). Cost effective, portable, and reliable!

Sound control is awful. It's pre-set so can't be fine tuned to what you want. Came with a French plug and UK adapter that was a loose fit and sagged. I returned it two months ago and never received a refund. Do not recommend! Utter garbage.
