one worked fine and the other did not work at all
Bought two of them, one worked fine and the other did not work at all. Not worth the time and effort to return it though, so I can't report on the quality of the seller's support.UPDATE! Apparently the seller saw my review, he reached out to me with a free replacement product. He didn't have to do that since I'd already written it off. I'd say that's above and beyond the call of duty and shows an honest and conscientious seller.CHANGING MY RATING FROM 3 TO 5 STARS based on great support.

Fast, easy, simple to use and it works,
Easier to use than I expected, just plug your vga device in and then plug the adapter into your HDMI port and you are off and running. My new work computer only has HDMI ouput so I was hard put to plug in my KVM-audio switch, that goes to my large home monitor, But this adapter works and I get audio as well, I am now a happy camper!

I purchased a 22" monitor to use with my laptop ...
I purchased a 22" monitor to use with my laptop. The monitor did not have a hdmi port and my laptop did not have a vga port. This solved the problem. I now use my laptop with an external keyboard and mouse as a desktop at home.

Its crap
Crap. Plain and simple crap. I bought this to use with a projector. The projector did not recognize any input signal, and the display on my Macbook went haywire while this was plugged in. I can only assume there is some kind of a short or a connection issue inside of the adapter.

Great for new laptops
When I got my new laptop I had no idea that the HDMI cable was the only video port for my desk monitor. This was a convenient and perfectly priced solution to the problem.I had three people at work the following week tell me they were having the same problem so I sent them the info and they purchased one as well.

I was surprised how well this worked. I used it with a new Dell Optiplex 3040 MT/BTX with Intel I5 + Intel Integrated HD graphics 530. This adapter has the VGA female threaded screw holes, so the VGA cable screws securely to the adapter.

Works as expected and converts HDMI to VGA. I was able to attach an 8 year old monitor that only supported VGA input to my laptop that only has an HDMI port a couple of months ago and it works great till date!!
