Worst black rice ever.
When I researched japonica rice in said non sticky. This is a sticky rice, so I am throwing away $20 worth of rice. Not only was it a waste of money but the most flavorless black rice I have ever tasted. If you want a nutty flavored black rice, this isn't it, white rice has more flavor, it is a chewy rice but awful in every other way.

Wonderful.
Serve it cold with chopped up cucumber, parsley, red & green bell peppers and any other vegetables you like... onions always on the side as they go bad fast. With or without salad dressing. Perfect summer food. I serve mine without meat... a nice break.

Bitter. VERY bitter
This might be my issue since it possibly is supposed to have this metallic bitter aftertaste. Small grain, which is fine, but the flavor is not and requires quite a bit of doctoring. Back to wild rice.

Dang Good Stuff and Great For Variety
I have to have variety in my life and that means my foods also. I like the wild rice nutty flavor. Because it is a little longer cook, I will sometimes mix it in when cooking a risotto or toss in a 1/3 cup into a stew or soup. As for any grain, I mostly cook more that I need, then wrap and freeze portions for later quick access.

This rice is nut!
Love it's crunchiness like eating a nut, not a rice.
