I like tye mahogany, and the easy to play nack. in 2019 ibought one like this, but returned it due many death freats. was this issue fixed?

Issue not fixed. Had to take it to a guitar shop to fix.

The guitar has steel strings. Very nice guitar!

No. It's calibrated. My son just tuned it using a mobile app. The sound is beautiful.
