IPG Curby Water Activated Tape, 2.83" x 100M Refill Roll

Me and my wife decided to buy this brand of packing due to the wider size 2.83 vs 2" wide. We used this for shipping a box overseas to Manila to be exact. Currently our shipping company switched to brown double walk boxes from white and recommended to use kraft reinforced brown tape instead of plastic tape for recycling purposes now implemented. This brand of tape works well. After we bought this my wife was asking how to apply it. Normally from past experience in warehouse shipping companies we used tape machines for this type of tape. I priced them this can be expensive for the electric ones. My idea was to use the wet sponge method as done in warehousing when the tape machines became out of order. The glue on the tape is satisfactory and just need to wet the sponge and then wipe across the back of the tape. Then rapidly apply before the gum glue starts to dry. If need be after tape is applied can go over the edges of the tape if they did not adhere well, then press the tape down. I want to say less of this tape was used to seal the top and bottom of a large box versus using plastic tape in the past. Because due to weather change the plastic tape adhesion would come loose on areas of the box then we have to apply more tape. I recommend this tape for shipping brown boxes. AAA+

Excellent water activated tape! After trying a couple not so great brands I'm very happy to have found this one. The tape is easy to use, lies flat and is very secure.

Not bad. 50% less expensive than the 3" tape I usually get from McMaster, but honestly whatever brand I get from McMaster is roughly 50% stronger, thicker and 3" wide instead of 2.8. I will go back to the slightly more expensive but tape from McMaster.

What you expect as described, wrapped several packages already, it works, pro tip: re-task and use your old dish sponge to wet it quickly and evenly, don't over wet, one wipe only!

This is my first time using water-activated gum tape, but I'm very happy with it. Because I've not used other similar products, I don't have a point of reference for how other brands perform. All I can say is I am impressed with its holding power and will continue to order it. If you (like me) haven't used this type of tape before, I reccomend giving it a try. No other adhesive tape will give you the strength and secure hold that this type of tape gives you. There's a small learning curve with it. You need to get used to how it reacts to water, how wet you want to get it, and how quickly it tacks up. But once you do, you'll be as impressed as I am with how professional your packages look and how securely they are kept closed.

This paper tape is a staple in my business! I use it every day, and it holds up great—strong, reliable, and easy to tear by hand. It sticks well to packages but is also easy to remove when needed. A must-have for anyone shipping regularly or needing quality tape!

This is a great paper tape with a bit of reinforcement. It is not pre moistened so you need to get a dispenser that wets and cuts it. I found one on Amazon for around $35. Worth every penny! Once you get used to it you’ll find this tape is easy to work with and seals packages very well. Make sure you press all the edges down and it will quickly bond to the cardboard box. If you are reusing Amazon boxes for shipping a few inches of this tape easily and quickly covers barcodes and previous shipping info. Best of all, you will be decreasing use of plastic which is not biodegradable once it hits the landfill. +++++
