This laptop is phenomenal.
This laptop can compare to a desktop tower and in some cases could win, very easily. At it's price, it's a mid grade laptop. But in it's performance, it is, too me, in the runnings for the best budget computer. I keep saying that it's good for it's price, and this is just because you can find laptops for much cheaper, and very much more expensive. It works very well and I haven't found any real issues with its hardware or originally installed software. The speakers are loud, it could have more USB ports. But in sacrificing some space for those, they've added a USB-C Port, HDMI, SD converter/adapter, VGA, Ethernet, and a two-in-one head phone/microphone jack. The CD drive it uses is very reliable, as it uploads and Burns to and from disks very fast and the audio is clear. The battery could be better, but Windows 10 is a fairly taxing operating system. The laptop is very versatile as well, as my friend put Linux Ubuntu on his in less than 30 minutes I believe. The screen can seem a little unimpressive at first, but that's just color, it's handles resolution very well. I frequently game on it, and I can usually run my games between the medium and high graphical settings. The biggest draw back of the laptop would have to be something it doesn't control, that would be the Windows updates. They really what feels like eons, and often don't have anything new to offer to the user. While the updates are for security reasons, people still like New stuff when they're forced to do something they don't like. Overall, I love my Laptop, I wouldn't trade it for another for at least 3-4 more tests, just because I know it will stay fairly up to date and will still be able to complete with the competition for at least that long.

Worth every penny, Go ASUS!!!, upgrade the ram though people.
UPDATE ======================================RAM upgrade is a must, get the 8gb card listed in the questions here. The PC gets slow here and there and RAM fixed it.Best for price in class!Screen - Good quality, not a mac screen but crystal clear. Black levels could be better but this is normal for a matte screen, usually only glass or glossy have the deeper blacks. NOTE: You need to turn DPI to 100, they set it to 125 on a lot of 1080p laptops and it screws with picture quality. To get true 1080 set DPI to 100, but note text will become smaller.Trackpad - Responsive, multi touch cool, takes some getting used to to not touch it while typing. OverallI would rate it as 9/10 comparing to high end hardware like macbook pro.Output - I CAN CONFIRM that 4k output goes to TV. I am using this as a media streaming device and it has excellent output. Unfortunately a lot of mediums, even netflix, restrict output from a PC, at least for now. But at least you know you're getting something that will support it.SPeed - i3 has great speed handling and video graphics capabilities built in. WIll suit all your needs and then some. It is low power and the computer does not run hot. I like ASUS Because they put the exhaust where it needs to be. This one runs cool so I'm not sure where it is, but on my i7 they have it on the side so it breathes easyPorts - Has USB3 and real HDMi, good enough.Keyboard - nice full size keyboard, keys feel slightly on the cheap side but this is a cheap computer. They do respond well which matters more than how they feel. Typos are at a minimum I've only had a couple while typing this review. The numpad is squeezed quite wellinto the right, the size is slightly reduced and the arrow key moved over. They fortunately did not screw with the FN or control buttons, they are all conveniently where they should be.Overall:I highly recommend this laptop at the price of $350. I also have their same form factor is an i7 6700HQ which is quad core and has ridiculous speeds and has an SSD and 8gb ram. Speed of this one is decent for the hard drive being traditional. If you fork out an additional $70 for a 256gb SSD this would be flying. Be aware that having a traditional hard drive, the bottleneck becomes the HDD when you have an i3 or higher.

It's amazing! The pros definitely outweigh the cons
EDIT: I've had the laptop for about a year and a half and lemme tell you I hate it if lags, crashes, freezes, and just sucks. So yeah.Okay, I just got my laptop on Thursday. After tweaking some stuff and downloading Microsoft office and updates my final review of this laptop is definitely 5/5. It's amazing! The pros definitely outweigh the cons:Pros: amazing design, a lot of memory, amazing sound, perfect for anybody (gamers, businessmen, artists, students, etc), great for league of legends and overwatch(gamers), great for running different art programs like firealpaca, Photoshop, and krita(artists), great with multitasking (businessmen and students) REMEMBER it doesn't come with Microsoft office installed BUT if you're a student you can get it for free from the company so don't worry, great"on the go" laptop, affordable (at least more so than other laptops that might run you $500-$2000 depending on your needs), just an overall amazing laptop.Cons: no backlit keyboard, keyboard takes time to get used to (not really a con but still something you should be aware of), sometimes (VERY rarely) lags so may need to upgrade from 4gb of ram to 8 but it's not completely necessary, touch pad isn't as sensitive as I would like (I'm not sure if you can change that in settings but just something you should be aware of isn't a big deal if you use an external mouse), battery life isn't terrible but ya know it could be betterHopefully I didn't miss anything. Overall, this laptop is amazing. The only "real" complaint that I had was that it was supposed to come July 13th and it came the 14th. Granted it was only a day late, but because of where I live the mail carrier is never consistent meaning sometimes he'll come and sometimes he won't. I was afraid that it would've taken longer and I needed my laptop like ASAP. You can't fault the laptop for that of course. I hope this helped!

ok for internet use, would not recommend it for gaming as it is not powerful at all.

Great computer
The same or comparable computers elsewhere was AT LEAST $200 more, and that was on sale. I have no complaints. It's nice looking (more of a champagne colour), sturdy without being heavy, and exactly as advertised. Weirdly, the metallic plastic casing is super prone to finger prints, but I really don't care, they come right off when I run a cloth or my sleeve over it. It does need a better graphics card, and the matte screen may be easier on the eyes but it does take some getting used to. BUT you are NOT going to get this good quality of a computer with these specs anywhere else for this price. Asus laptops are really the new standard in this price range. Any annoyance I have is entirely the fault of Microsoft 10 and not the actual laptop.I recommend it and I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Everything the "average" user needs and more
Fantastic Laptop. The SSD drive is an instant on...has the full keypad on the side which is great. The computer is fast enough to do almost everything, I do video editing and this computer holds up very well. I did my research before buying and this was the best laptop I could find for this price range.Update: I’ve had this computer now for 6 months and can easily say it hasn’t skipped a beat. Running as fast as it did when I first bought it. No lags. The SSD drive is still “instant on”. I “permanently” use an external hard drive with it for more space since I take a lot of photos and edit video. Beyond happy with it.

Great back up, good as secondary computer, for students on the go, affordable
Update:This is actually a really sturdy, basic laptop that's great for students or anyone on a budget to start. It doesn't come with Office which is a serious drawback for me but I already knew that to start. I have a primary laptop to do real work on both for work and school. This is more of a play time secondary laptop where I exclusively organize all my photographs, hobbies, use to browse, look up recipes and take with me on roadtrips etc.I think the people who might find it limiting might be avid gamers, really techy people who know all the specs and how to upgrade (you might see all the areas where you are itching to upgrade!), and perhaps others with faster computers using this one as a primary computer might find they are downgrading in some way. I really don't feel that kind of pressure because I am using this as a secondary play time laptop. And for that reason I'm not necessarily putting a lot of pressure of having expectations for performance. This is also a back up computer in case anyone else needs one in the house in an emergency. It's a great buy for a back up especially if you have kids. Everything seems to have a shorter life with kids/teenagers around! All round great investment personally.

Great Laptop
I have had this laptop for maybe a month, it's been really great so far. The SSD drive makes it very fast compared to my old laptop. It boots to windows very fast and for daily use it's great. For the price you really cant beat this, with the specs in this laptop. The build quality is great, and the 15.6" HD display looks amazing, especially for watching movies or Youtube. I would highly recommend this laptop for college students such as myself looking for a great laptop to complete schoolwork or for general web browsing. My only complaint would be the battery life, it only lasts about 3-3.5 hours with constant use, which could be worse for a 15.6" laptop, but is not the best. Overall, this is a great laptop for the price and you really cant beat it!
