The Director: A Dark Bratva Romance (Chicago Bratva Book 1)

This book started off as easy escapism but during the second half I started to lose interest. The sex scenes were repetitive and I started to skip them. While I liked that Ravil was nice to Lucy (other than kidnapping her of course!), I felt the author tried too hard to make him into a redeemable criminal, there was a really cheesy scene were he makes a young boy practice his subtractions before giving him a generous donation. There are characters in the book, Lucy’s ex and her work enemy Dick, who could have been better used to create drama, tension or a real climatic moment. I was hoping for a scene with Ravil coming to see Lucy at work once they were an established couple. Overall what disappointed me was the ending, it was just over, I felt like it had been working towards a specific moment (trying not to give any spoilers) but it just switched to focus on Maxim.

I really enjoyed listening to Benjamin Sands. He brought the characters to life.The story is about a Lucy lawyer coming to terms with the father Ravil of her unborn child being a bratva chief. Who Lucy has hidden from Ravil. Once he find out , he wants to revenge her lack of honesty.Ravil has had a hard life , but is good to his men. Lucy is trying to come to turns with her new situation.I did enjoy this story. we have domaince and submission and love. with misunderstanding.

All these elements combine to make a steamy romp with a pretty cute love story at its centre.Ravil is the Dom head of the Bratva in Chicago. After ending up pregnant after a one night stand with a Russian Dom she doesn’t expect to see him again until he wonders into her office needing a defence attorney for his friend, after taking her back to his penthouse, miscommunication and interruptions before things escalate. Really enjoyed reading this

I loved this story. I've read a few books by this author and this one didn't disappoint. I couldn't put it down, I was compelled to read. It read with an easy flow that kept you gripped in this love story and anchored to the characters. Lucy was determined to go it alone, but when ravil found out her truth, he made her surrender to his will. Amazing read.
