Karafu 68 Oz/2 Liter Glass Pitcher with Lid, Heat Resistant Water Jug for Hot/Cold Water, Ice tea and Juice Beverage

We have enjoyed using the 68 ounce Glass Pitcher for almost four months now. I delayed my review to see if this pitcher was reliable and truly heat-tempered enough to withstand almost daily usage. When our last discount store double-walled pitcher started warping from poured boiling water, I purchased this with trepidation after reading some negative reviews. The good news is that this is the best large pitcher we have had for brewing large quantities of herbal tea! My husband and I bring Kleen Kanteens of iced herbal tea to work every day. Most nights, I brew 5 teabags with 64 ounces of boiling water in this pitcher, which sits on a trivet. I let it steep for 30-60 minutes before putting it in the fridge with the stay-cool handle for the next morning. The pitcher handles this as well as any Pyrex - no cracks, grazing, or leaks. The spout pours without any drips or dribbles. The flat metal lid has a rubber gasket that does not leak if the tea level is below it (common sense). The lid has two pouring options: open rectangle on one side, and a strainer on the opposite side. Its opening is wide enough for dunking and removing teabags, as well as hand scrubbing. We have accidentally bumped the pitcher on our granite counter tops and in the sink. It has not been damaged at all. Perhaps there is a percentage of duds in this product, but we lucked out with a perfect pitcher. Some other issues to consider: the pitcher is lightweight but ergonomic and stylish; the fill line to accommodate the lid is 64 ounces (not 68); the pitcher arrived in a plain white box with a UPC label, packaged as a wholesale rather than a retail item.

I love these glass pitchers. My family drinks lots of iced tea. From start to finish it takes me 14 minutes to make brisk, clean tasting ice tea using my special little brewing trick. I know that some others have expressed problems in the past with these pitchers, but I saw a statement from the company somewhere that they noted the complaints and problems people reported and resolved them. That must be true because I have had no issues. They are a thin lightweight borasilicate glass with a nice tight fitting lid (not spill proof). They are absolutely heat resistant. I pour boiling water right from the kettle into the pitcher. They are easy to clean and care for and come with a good sized, long handled sponge to help in the cleaning. They have a nice wide mouth for cleaning and an ample sized handle for pouring. After I used the first pitcher a while, I was so happy that I bought another for lemonade and boiled lemon water. The are so pretty and look great right on the table. I don't use them directly on the stove top or any heat source. I will admit that I DO handle them gently. I hold them by the body and I don't put them in the sink with other dishes or knock them about the sink or clang them against other dishes. I wash and handle them separately and immediately dry them and make ready for the next batch of tea. They are pretty much in constant use. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I like that it's the largest glass water pitcher that I can find...that also has a lid and also is actually pretty. I love its size and its shape and that there is no plastic in it, so the water tastes better. The main con though is that it is pretty fragile and you have to be careful with it. I broke the first one by roughly putting it in the dishwasher. I eventually ended up buying it again though, because I really can't find anything similar that meets all my needs. I'm being a lot more careful with this one.

I am so pleased about with this purchase. The pitcher is all glass, including the handle. There is no plastic--even the lid, which is metal has a rubber gasket to hold it in place. I bought this pitcher to replace my old plastic pitcher with the giant plastic filters that had to be replaced every 2 months. I hated 1) that the pitcher was plastic and 2) that the giant filters had to be replaced and thrown away every 2 months, only to end up in a landfill for eternity. I was so glad when the plastic pitcher finally cracked so I could make the change. I wanted a glass pitcher to use with the GOpure Pod, which is a small capsule water filter. So, so great. Small--tiny actually--lasts 6 months, and I can send it back to the manufacturer so that they can repurpose the outer casing. It is far more effective and removes significantly more impurities than the other huge plastic filters. So, the new glass pitcher is perfect. Plastic elimination, and looks lovely on the counter!

Ok, they had me judge heat resistance in the stars portion but I haven’t used it for anything hot? So I gave it 5 stars since I didn’t know. I have washed both (this is second one I bought so far) in dishwasher and they held up fine! Just be sure nothing heavy is next to it that might brake it. Be warned, it does seem very fragile (not as fragile as it seems though I can attest to as I have knocked it against a few things accidentally and it never broke!) and thin but I have had no issues with it. I have had the 1st one for about 4 years so far now. I have problems with my wrists and weak hands so I like this because it means it is very light weight, and a thicker glass would be much heavier especially with liquid in it! However if this would bug you, you have been warned! The lid is great, however do be aware that while it stays on well even when you turn it so the open sides are not forward if you tilt it liquid can still come out due to design of lid! If you don’t tilt it as though you intend to pour though it will be fine. The lid has never come off while pouring or anything. You do want to make sure during cleaning that when you take the rubber piece off the lid the you put it on the right way again or it will affect the seal in the lid! Otherwise everything is roses 🌹 ! Great for infused water, iced tea or iced coffee (have done all of above). Love it so much I bought a second one as we are trying to remove plastics from our home.

I used this pitcher only a short time and it cracked at the bottom during normal use. Nothing extreme, no sudden temperature change, no drops. It’s advertised as heat resistant, but that did not hold up in my experience. The design looks nice and it’s easy to clean, but that doesn’t matter if the glass fails this quickly. A crack at the base makes it unsafe to use, especially with hot liquids. If you’re trying to save money, I’d honestly recommend buying something else. Not worth the risk or hassle.

When this pitcher first arrived, I was a little skeptical because the glass felt thinner than I expected. After using it for about a month, though, I’ve been pleasantly surprised. I’ve poured boiling water directly into it for tea several times, and it hasn’t shown any cracks, cloudiness, or other signs of stress. The lid fits securely and has a nice seal that keeps odors from sneaking into your beverages, which I really appreciate. I’ve been trying to move away from using plastics, and this pitcher has been a great replacement—simple, clean, and functional. I’m happy enough with it that I’ll probably order a second one.

se siente fragil por ser delgado el cristal "fino" , por lo pronto a resistido pero si hay que tratarla con cuidado. Al parecer por los comentarios si es muy resistente, pero no quiero llevarla al limite.

Incorrect sized pitcher arrived and the lid was damaged and badly scratched.

I was looking for a Pitcher for the raw milk Iget from a farm close by and I came across this one. I wasn't sure if it was going to be those have ones or not. I received it today and it is SUPER LIGHT. I'm very pleased with my purchase!
