Finally sleeping well!
The bed frame I ordered was lower to the ground than expected and there was also an unsightly gap between the headboard and the top of the 10" medium foam mattress I had so I needed a more height, balanced squish (sink roughly equal to pushback) and no extra heat retention. So, I first purchased a less expensive 3" memory foam topper that made great claims about evenly distributing weight and ventilating to reduce retained body heat. Well, it did neither. That other "memory foam" topper was so weak and over-soft that it readily squished down to a quarter inch with a modest squeeze of one hand. Under the warmth and weight of my 6ft frame it did not provide any sort of "foam" cushion, loft or comfort. Memory foam is really NOT what we need for sleeping on. We need medium to high-rebound, NON-memory foam (springy foam yields enough in the right places but doesn't sink down too far and flatten). I didn't want to spend a lot but remembered that latex foam has great rebound properties and longevity. It was once used widely before cheaper memory foam swamped the marketplace by virtue of catchy advertising alone (riding the coattails of some very different, high-cost products). So, after several terribly sleepless nights on hot, flattened "memory foam" I decided I had to accept the inevitable and make an investment in a different topper. This was the most affordable Queen size 3" latex foam topper that I could find. It was a couple hundred more than I wanted to spend but the price of poor sleep is far greater still; so, l bit the bullet and placed the order. Fortunately, it arrived a day early to spare me another 3-4hr sleep deprived night. This latex foam topper performs. Springy, not-hot, and just the right amount sink vs pushback for an adult. Now, I'm back getting enough sleep again with all the attendant benefits on my memory, attitude and health. I am very sensitive to odors and there was only a very, very faint odor on the first day. It was not an unpleasant odor. It literally smelled like very faint "planty" rubber smell. I could barely smell it while laying on it without a cover on it yet. After putting a bamboo viscose mattress protector over it I could not smell anything unusual at all. So, if you like me, wanted to see if you could get a "good enough" topper at a bargain price, learn from my cautionary tale and save yourself some trouble. I now have a giant, hot, unusable 3" queen size memory foam topper that is very hard to return from my current semi-rural location. That wasn't a bargain at all -- just a waste. If you can't afford sleepless nights and don't want to dispose of a giant lousy topper at your own expense just buy the good one from the start. This topper from Pure Green, with all its virtues (Eco, fair trade, low off-gassing) is about as good as it gets. If you can afford to get the one with the pure cotton cover (basic or luxury) I'd recommend it. I couldn't get either of those in the shorter time frame I needed so I cannot critique the covers. However, I can point out that the marketplace for 3" topper covers is not great since most are dense, hot, polyester and cost a lot more by themselves than the price difference for the cotton cover to be included on this product.

No more morning hip and back pain
Product I bought--Med-Firm King Size 3-inch topper. Bought this product in the hopes it would help relieve hip and back pain that I was experiencing upon waking up in the morning. Doc suggested a new mattress for my king size bed. Budget said no. I am so glad I found this mattress topper. When it first arrived I was really surprised about how heavy it was. This is my first ever latex topper and it is certainly a bit heavier than the foam ones. Unless you are, buying a smaller size than king, your young, and/or have good upper body strength I would suggest having someone helping to unpack it and get it on the bed. I am hoping this means it will hold up much better than the foam ones. I put it on the bed 3 days ago so we will see. The topper feels a little, what I would call, bouncy. This is a good thing for me. I am a side sleeper and as my hip sinks into it it actually feels like the section under my waist raises up to support its part. This has done wonders for the hip and back pain. Three days on the bed and three days with no morning pains. Also the topper seems to have cut down on movement transfer to a large degree. I am not waking my husband up anymore if I get in or out of bed while he is asleep. This pleases him greatly. I would suggest that before ordering any 3-inch thick topper check to see if your sheets can handle the added mattress depth. I didn't think of this so I had to go buy a set of deep pocket sheets. I also discovered I had to switch out pillows because with my shoulder sinking into the topper my neck was bent with my thick pillow. Swapped for a thinner guest pillow and it was all good. I have noticed no odor from the topper past a quick whiff of a rubbery smell upon first cutting open the plastic wrap it was shipped in. All in all, as long as the topper holds up long enough to justify the price, I think I made a wonderful purchase. Updated in August 2020-- It is now over a year old and has held up well. Have not had any of the problems I had with my old foam one, like how you could tell what position I slept in from the permanent indentations in the old topper after less than a year of use. There has been no body indentations in this one so far and it is still providing the same level of cushioning as it did brand new. Update May 13, 2023,---5 years old and still in excellent shape. There are still no body indentations and no flattening out. I do flip it once a year though. Definitely worth the price I paid!

Great eco friendly solution for a tired mattress!
We had a 10 year old cotton futon that we have both used as a couch and to sleep on daily. It had compressed from its original 6 or 8 inch thickness to 3 to 4 inches. My child was sleeping on a hand-me-down traditional boxspring type mattress through which you could feel the springs quite plainly despite having put several mattress pads on top of it. I was hesitant to replace our mattresses since new bedding laws after 2007 (?) have required mattress companies to add a lot of fire retardant chemicals to new mattresses. After doing a good bit of reading and research about healthy bedding, I decided that latex toppers combined with wool toppers would be the healthiest and most affordable choice for upgrading our bedding. An extra bonus is that nothing bulky would have to be thrown into the landfill. We live in a very remote place where recycling is not readily available. The 3" thick medium density toppers from Sleep On Latex came in very heavy, dense, eco friendly and compact packaging. They are shrink-wrapped and compressed with heavy cling plastic so they are much smaller (and folded in half) when they are prepared for shipment. The added bonus is that they stay meticulously clean during shipping. I was surprised when I went to pick them up at the freight company and they both easily fit in the back of my compact car. I also purchased, on the advice of latex topper manufacturers, a stretchy cotton zippered case for these toppers. It is important to keep them away from sunlight and air circulation to ensure a long life for the product. On exiting the cardboard box, cling wrap and heavy plastic bag, the latex topper has a slightly sweet marshmallow smell to it, quite faint and nonoffensive. It also felt slightly moist, which I'm not sure is some aspect of the manufacturing or simply the nature of the texture of it. It was not moist enough to leave any residue on your hands, it just has a damp feel to it. I inserted the topper and a wool mattress pad into the stretchy case and placed it on a mattress pad on the futon/mattress. I placed another mattress pad over that to ensure that it would not slide back-and-forth on the futon/mattress. I then made my bed up as usual with sheets and blankets. Note: when I first opened them up and flattened them out onto the beds, the toppers seemed too large. But don't be tempted to grab the scissors! Once encased in the stretchy coverslip, and then wrapped on to the existing mattress with another mattress pad, they are just fine. The result is a much thicker and much more comfortable bed. Our compressed cotton futon was probably what would've been considered an extra firm sleeping surface, which was giving us sore necks and shoulders and stiff backs when waking up in the morning. We are active middle aged people generally on the muscular/thin side. The medium latex topper allows a lot more give for those pressure points when side sleeping but is strong enough to push up and hold the softer points, allowing you to sleep in a straighter line, more or less. I feel like I am sleeping on a comfy cloud! It does, now, take two adults to fold our bed into a couch. The topper is heavy and has added a lot of thickness to our bed. With the old futon you could stand behind the back and flip it up quickly and it would fold. Now, one adult needs to push on the seat side while the other lifts the back of the couch up. But it does fold and it does stay put and it is oh so comfortable! Highly recommended - I also contacted the company outside of Amazon through their website with questions and they were very quick to respond and very helpful.

Great for back but get the cover
I’ve slept on a firm Tempurpedic for the past 10 years but it got way too soft and I began to have back/hip/neck pain. Thought I would try the medium latex topper as I read that it was similar to firm memory foam. It definitely helped immediately. However, it wasn’t enough because my mattress was sinking at my hips too much even with the topper. I ordered a new bed (lux firm, foam for a great price here-SunRising) and it was very affordable for made in USA/only needed an 8 inch since the topper is 3 inches. This combination is perfect. I slept one night and it’s the best sleep I’ve had in years. Virtually eliminated my back pain. My butt sinks in just enough but my lumbar is supported with no sinking at all. I had no idea how much better I would feel. The topper will prolong the life of the mattress as well. I highly suggest getting the cover. I’m not sure why they sell it without except for price/profit hence the 4 star and not 5. Because it is so heavy, it is difficult to move because it doesn’t slide without the cover and kind of sticks. You do get better at it with practice. I highly recommend the cover or adding one after (they sell them here) but it may be difficult to get on especially without 2 people. Buying it covered is the best option which I regret not going with. I placed the topper directly on top of my new mattress and then put a cotton fitted sheet over just the topper to avoid friction from the waterproof cover that may damage the topper (I’ve seen other reviews with photos of crumbling), then the waterproof cover, a cotton quilted mattress cover, fitted sheet-so comfortable and sleeps cooler than just the Tempurpedic alone. The latex surface feels soft if you push your hand into it but when laying down the body weight is distributed, you’ll feel the surface tension that makes you feel like you’re floating but your spine will stay aligned. Beautiful. Reminds me of how my firm Tempurpedic felt when I first got it but at a fraction of the cost. Medium topper is good even though I prefer firm beds but again, even the 3 inch won’t sold the problem if your bed sinks or sags. It will help you sleep cooler and even out bumps or solve firmness issues (especially if you need one side soft and one side firm-2x twins=split king).

This fixed my memory foam mattress side issues! Very Comfy and Cool. No Smell at all.
I like the packaging, it was heavy but easy to maneuver. There was no smell what so ever, no residue left after I touched it as some other reviews have indicated. I found it was easy to place even though its quite dense. Dense enough to stay put, but enough movement to be able to get it into the exact spot. It fit my queen 10 inch memory foam mattress perfectly The product is cool and much cooler than memory foam with a cooling gel layer . it is firm enough in the medium firm to address my memory foam mattress issues of the sides caving and causing me to feel like i'm rolling off the bed whether siting or sleeping. This caused me such discomfort waking every morning in worse and worse pain. I have a shoulder that slightly dislocates constantly, so far this seems to have . solved that painful morning syndrome of mine. As far as . helping with the sides caving on my mattress, I think the firm would have been even better in this area. It saved me from having to buy another new mattress after only a year. I tried a 4 inch memory foam and that only added to my problem and was hot and slid off the bed every night. I feel that anyone having the same . problem . should find this a good solution, or . simply adding flat cardboard to the mattress before placing latex topper on top would help if my sides were any worse. I am quite happy with latex. I had a latex topper before and didnt realize it was a different foam entirely. Since that first one Ive tried two other memory foams toppers since that first one which i now know was latex. I couldnt figure out why that first one was so much better, now I do. I got the package very fast, and am delighted with the quality and . product,. It was worth the money. I spent as much on my cheap mattress and I seriously wish I had bought a latex topper for my old mattress. however, I did switch to a smaller size so with the added depth i can use my old king expensive sheets and using a sheet garter they stay in place and I am one happy happy girl now. Thank you Sleep On Latex! I will buy all my toppers from you and recommend them to my family and friends. what a difference. If I had one thing I would have liked better it would be a cotton cover. I really couldnt afford the extra for it, even though i have a nice mattress cover on it , I would have liked a way to preserve the nice clean state but I am pretty careful so its really not any kind of issue. I would be happy to try any product . you sell honestly . I am so impressed with the entire experience.

If you have an old mattress then this is the topper for you!
My mattress is 20 years old and since it is still pristine in appearance and hardly exhibits a dent in the pillow top it seemed a shame to get rid of it - not to mention the exorbitant cost of a new one. After a lot of research and review reading I purchased the 3" topper (queen sized). It came packaged in such a way that it unfolded very easily onto my mattress (good thing because it's just me and this thing is hefty!). When I laid on it I immediately noticed how it supported my entire body equally. That night, for the first time in years, I experienced a night of sleep without tossing and turning to relieve shoulder and hip pressure point pain. It was so comfy I spent all the next day thinking of how soon I could get back into bed! I've been sleeping on it for 3 months now and have found only small thing and that is my butt rolls toward the edge when I face toward the center of the bed (I'm sizable and sleep on my side). I don't remember noticing this with just my mattress so it could be the topper. I was able to strategically stuff about 6" of a thin pillow between my mattress and the topper and solve this problem (surprisingly I don't feel the pillow through the topper). The only negatives I've found are that my mattress is now 3" higher and it's a little harder to stick my foot on the bed to put on my socks ;), and my dog now has to jump up 33" to get into bed. He's OK with it for now (he's only 6 years old, 80 lb and agile) but I plan to make an 18" platform to make it easier for him. Finally, my topper is so comfortable I'm planning to get the twin size and use it to replace the memory foam part of my other dog's two beds that are on the floor. She weighs 110 lb and dislikes sleeping anywhere elevated, and I want to make sure she doesn't get pressure point pains. Plus she hates squishy things and this latex is nice and firm (plus cooler than the memory foam). Oh, one more thing - my dog that sleeps on my bed likes to "nest" so I bought this awesome mattress protector so his sizable claws won't damage the latex: Memory Foam Mattress Protector - Organic Cotton With Eco-Friendly Greenshield Water Resistance - Kool-Flow Breathable Stretch Fabric - All USA Made - Best For Plush Beds - Queen

New mattress using 3 layer combo
This review is for medium firm full size 3 inch layer. I am 5’ 6” and my lady is about same hight. I am athletic build 160 lib and she is about 125 lib. Im a back sleeper as well as side. She is predominantely stomach sleeper. We used to sleep on decent full size memory foam mattress that was on a firm side that we had for over ten years. Recently we started to get lower back aches and stiffness specially if we sleep for over 7 hrs. We decided to look around for new mattresse. I was disapoonted of the confort level of new hybird matresses such as brooklyn bedding or purple by going to local display store. We tend to sleep well in hotels so we wanted to get something more spring like besides memoryfoam. Out of all matresses we liked the feel of latex. It felt more spring like at the same time memory foam feel. I ripped off the 3 inch layer of my old matress and replaced it with puregreen 3inch medium firm latex toper. It improved our sleeping but not completely. I decided to get 2 more layers of puregreen 3inch topers (one firm and one medium). Now i have 3 layers of puregreen with firm layer in the middle. I must say i am very happy with the outcome. I was afraid that matress would not be supportive enough but that is not the case. It still has that memory foam feel without sinking in and bounce of spring mattress and I believe we sleep little cooler on it. It takes me faster to fall asleep than before since I am a light sleeper. I can always change up the layers to make the bed more firm or plush if needed. I used my old matress case for new matress. For under $700 I have new fully dunlop latex mattress that would cost about double the price somewhere else. Hope this review helps anyone with similar situation.

I would not buy it again!
Altho this mattress was initially comfortable it does not have a rebound. If you sleep on the same spot the depression becomes permanent & a little lumpy. I'm not apt to sleep in the middle or other side to experience that new feeling so I'm kinda stuck with it as it is. My back often hurts due to the lack of support. I wouldn't buy it again.

A really good natural topper
Although my grand new twin sized 11" Kingkoil bed which with a 2" pillow pad on top. still feeling too hard for my back, compared with my another existing 15 years old king sized 15" Kingkoil bed which with a 4" memory foam pillow pad on top. Searching for a topper for making my bed more softer, tried some so-called latex toppers (non-natural) including from Ikea at their showroom. Finally found this certified 100% natural latex topper. Of course natural latex is much much more healthy and better than those petroleum by-product latex. Ordered a 3" medium firmness to my Singapore home. Very good quality and the softness is adequate. My weight is 120 lbs. It enhance my bed to a more high level mattress. Some reviews say the odour is strong, but my topper is with very mild natural latex smell, just like the old days' dunlopillow natural latex pillow. However, I still hanged it for fan ventilation for 2 days. I am going to buy a second one for my mom in Hong Kong. After the happiness with this topper, I have recommended it to several friends. In future, I won't spend extra money for getting a so-called luxury mattress just like my old Kingkoil. Instead, buy a standard one and add this natural latex on top. Better than those so-called 3 to 4" pillow top mattress, which stuffed with chemical latex or foam. I highly advice not to buy those petroleum by-product topper. One of the reason is those toppers are not relatively cheap compared to this certified 100% natural latex one. You only have to pay a little bit extra. Also, this kind of topper can be last for years, and you sleep on it every night, so it is worthy. A small disappointment is that the organic cotton topper cover can not be shipped to either Singapore or Hong Kong. Although the manufacturer says the cover is not necessary as people mostly do not order with, however, the latex seems fatigue when lifting it up with hands which it might be torn apart as the topper is weighted 24lbs (for twin size). Then I use a old duvet to enclose it.

3" Medium Firmness - feels great
Would probably have been ok with the 2" tbh but in any case this is great. When placed on top of a cheap but very firm mattress makes a great combination, the equal of top tier mattresses but much cheaper. Very faint but not unpleasant smell initially, but gone completely now after a week or two. Feel good about having paid for certified sustainable source rather than a plantation the result of recent deforestation (or artificial rubber for that matter).

Can be bought directly from "Sleep on Latex"
We bought this topper through Amazon and could not get comfortable on it and something in the latex makes our eyes burn. We are having a problem with this seller getting a refund. Sleeponlatex , which makes the topper gives a 30 day trial and if you are not happy will arrange to have it shipped back to them and issue a full refund. My wife and I could not sleep on this topper. We wish we had bought it from "Sleep on Latex"

Sigue oliendo después de meses
A pesar de que es muy cómodo y y de que deje que se ahorrara por varios meses, aún despide un olor poco desagradable.
