This is wonderful and so easy. My kids love making different shapes each time. We've had it 5 days and have made sushi 3 times. Just have to remember to wet the seaweed sheet a little on the edge before you finish wrapping it. We love this.

Using the rolling mat works much better, light plastic not durable, different shapes aren't really necessary for me, but they work. It's an okay starter kit to learn how to make Sushi, you need to google how to properly slice and prepare fish. E.g. never rinse tuna or any saltwater fish with fresh water, instead pat it dry with paper towels etc...Buy top grade fish for best sushi and make sure you chill the meat in your fridge under plastic for at least 2 hours to firm up meat and make slicing easier, get a Forschner cutting knife or a Bubba Blade

This is a great product for someone just starting out in making sushi. My suggestion is that if you are thinking of making sushi without seaweed to spray a very light coating of oil (i.e. Crisco spray) before putting the sticky rice in the holder. This makes it very easy for the rice to come out. Sticky rice is REALLY sticky. Don't spray too much, just a very light coating.You'll love this product! I just started out making sushi and it has been wonderful with the different shape you can make.

I was excited about this kit. All the pieces look really nice. First, it says you get a recipe book. It's just a sushi rice recipe, not one other recipe. I had to throw the first batch of rice away, the measurements are wrong! I watched a video and it came out perfect. 2 cups rice 3 cups water. I made a round shaped roll, and it was tough to put the rice perfect and then when you go to put the round top on it crimps the nori. Good luck with a heart shape roll, not happening. I'm going to buy a sushi mat and roll it by hand. A lot simpler. I'm sad 😢

Absolutely horrendous. The box in the ad is not the box it came in, not even the same brand. The knife in the ad is not the knife that arrived. No chopsticks. The product looks like it was used. The utensils have the markings of being scrubbed and not that well. It’s flimsy plastic, all of it. The box was taped together and worn. It looks like it was water damaged. The sushi mat was a throw In from a different brand and taped to the box. The instructions are in what I believe is Russian. The ad states 15 piece set, it’s only 6. The ad says you’d receive a cookbook, no cookbook arrived. No sauce dishes. The knife is literally a big razor blade you can buy at Home Depot. This feels like a scam. This is no different from the phone calls I get from China. Amazon has to do better to filter these scammers out. Amazon needs to add a feature to give negative stars. This garbage doesn’t even deserve 1.

Bought this on a whim to start making sushi at home with my kids, was surprised at the quality- only complaint was the ebook but even that wasn't bad at all. Great all around for teaching kids to make sushi, it was considerably easier than doing it the traditional roll way.
