lovely reel but mine was left han ded so I sent it back I don't know if they do a right hand but I bought another reel. But Mitchell have been around longer than me so it was probably my fault but I wasn't going to take a chance

Purchased this reel for light river work for my grandson to use while learning. I was surprised how good it is. For the price this is a very good reel. The mag control is a bit fiddly but works well. General finish is good and business like with no unnecessary embellishments. This is a very good value for money product.

I need some advice on what line to use on it. I’m not sure if it has something to do with the line, but when i cast the tip of the rod stops the line from going forward.. i’ve tried spinning rods casting rods all the same an i used 0.16mm braided line

Nice reel not a heavyweight but strong enough for a 20lb pike

The drag doesn't work so if you caught anything you'd lose line and not get the fish in such a shame nice tidy reel looks good but that's all

Well, this reel is a lot smaller than I expected it to be, that’s for sure. Which is fine, as I did not want a large reel. I have 3 x ABU 7000 reels + a fixed spool to go with a couple of beach casters and 10ft rods but I recently picked up a very handy carbon fibre telescopic rod and wanted a compact real to go with that. For days when I am not out fishing properly but might want to take a light bit of tackle with me to the beach. So, although this reel is really compact, it is perfect.I do not need to put on heavy line and I can pop on some lures or even some feathers, maybe a bit slow for that, for a bit of relaxation, without having to trudge along with all my main kit. Call it “fishing-light”.The operation of the reel is like my 7000s, so I’m not really having to learn anything new. Being Mitchell, I know the reel is going to be well put together and durable. If I actually hook into anything half decent, it is going to be a capable reel.There is one other important factor for me here and that is my daughter, yes, my daughter, would like to have a go at fishing. I am not being sexist here, and this is an ideal reel for her to have a go with. I can dial it all up a bit, so she is not going to worried about over runs, bird’s nests and all that stuff. That way she can build her confidence and in a lot of ways, it is an easier reel to use than a fixed spool.I wound a bit of line on it for these photos but need to do it properly. Then we’ll take it down to the local park, get it set-up for the beach and she can have a good practice with casting. I’ll update this review once we have a couple of sessions fishing with it.From my initial playing around with the reel, it is smooth and almost whisper quiet to use. There is a decent amount of adjustment there and the simple push button at the rear for casting is ideally placed. It weighs almost nothing as well. That couple with the tele carbon fibre rod is going to make is a very lightweight rig.I know my ABU reels are easy to take apart and service myself, so let’s hope this reel is the same. You do get a handy parts diagram and number sheet included.The only reason for giving it 4-stars, is that I've yet to get it wet.I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful. Après quelques test en étang, rivière puis en mer sur des carnassiers, je recommande vivement ce moulinet sont prix m'as fait peur mais au final c'est un excellent moulinet fait avec de bon matériaux.Les Avantages : léger, résistant et facile d'utilisation il concurrence des moulinet casting que j'ai tél que ninja ou Daiwa sans souci ! Le rapport qualité prix est génial et puis bon les gens c'est made in France Mitchell ne m'as pas beaucoup déçu. Après 4 bon test très concluant pour moi une 30ene de prise en étang et riviere sans compter une prise de bar avec ce moulinet avec du fil tresse 37mm....et aucun de souci mécanique je recommande fortement !Les désavantages : il vous faudra de l'entraînement pour le manier comme tout les moulinet casting, mais mis a part sa il n'as pas grand défaut pour débuté ou pour s'amuser même pour les gens confirmer aucun souci par contre si vous êtes des vrai pro qui raffole des grosse prise et bien il n'est pas trop adapté il vous faudra investir un peu plus.
