Winsor & Newton Artists' White Spirits, 250ml

I was shocked. This was a 40 or 50 year old oil painting. It cleaned up. It looks new. The only thing I suggest you do it outside because of the odor.

I was nervous about using anything on my old dusty oil painting. It worked fine enough. Clean grim off well. I used and old tshirt then cotton balls. I highly recommend using in a well ventilated area. I may go over it one more time but will have to purchase another bottle.

Jeeze, expensive and this little bottle doesn’t last long.It works great, is clean and nice product w no yellowing.I’m looking for a better value product so I can get a larger bottle.

Did this turn my 100-year-old “oil painting done by a talented family member but no DaVinci” painting into a brilliant, like new painting that would match a professional restorer’s work? No. But, did it easily and safely clean off all those decades of soot and grime and make the painting look a WHOLE lot better than it did? YES. I chuckled at some of the results - our painting (which I have looked at now for almost 70 years) has a river running through the middle of it. But, who knew there was a little “waterfall” area in the river before we cleaned it??? So, if you’re expecting your oil painting to look like it was professionally cleaned as it might if you spent big bucks to get it done, you will be disappointed. But, for the price, this stuff is great.

Follow directions, and it’s easy to use.

Was very nervous to clean one of dear late friend's painting and WOW, this stuff really works by cleaning out nicotine and dirt by bringing out the colors originally.

It does what it needs to do. takes oil paint off but the bottle is so tiny, they did add it in the title so it's not false advertising but it's still tiny. does the job though

Use this regularly as an artist. The only problem with this is pouring it out without spilling it. I have bought a kitchen baster to suck up the contents to decant it.

I have no problem with the product itself but the packaging was very poor and as you can see from the photo the can was badly dented. The last one I bought, the can was leaking very slightly from the top. I have had soft good far better packaged than this!

I've been using Sansodor for something like 40 years. Superb performance - and genuinely unnoticeable odour.

This cleans brushes really well. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because its so difficult to pour without spillage. If there were a pourer included or even sold separately would definitely buy again.

This is perfectly good product which has a very low odour. A a good quality white spirit is just as good but has a high odour.I have to use Sansador with the art class .At home I use white spirit, but always make sure I have ventilation.
