Received versafine instant dry pigment today, but was disappointed with the embossed results. are the newer clair pads better with embossing powders?

Versafine Clair Nocturne is a stepped up, more wonderful iteration of Versafine Onyx Black (I will stick with these color comparisons for this answer.). Clair Nocturne is just a tad more intensely black than regular Versafine Onyx. It stamps equally fine lines, doesn’t smear, doesn’t stain photopolymer stamps and has the added unique quality that it can be heat embossed for an extended time after stamping. Don’t ask me how this Clair ink can do all those things, it’s near magic! Highly recommend the Versafine Clair Nocturne, and it’s a good idea to pick up a reinker at the same time because they can be difficult to find.

Is this ink waterproof? Using it on suede leather as a tag on a beanie hat. I want to make sure that the ink doesn't run if rained on or washed.

Just opened up the versafine Clair in 2 different colors and noticed the ink pad was not inked all the way to the bottom of the pad. Is this normal?

I store my ink pads upside down so the ink is always at the top when you use it. I just labeled the bottom with the color. I didn’t really notice that the ink wasn’t all the way through when I first bought them. I have had mine for at least 2 years and the colors are still vibrant.

Can it be used on wood? plywood for example?

Yes it can but if the wood is rough you might have trouble

Hohe Pigmentdichte und sehr gute Farbsättigung

Die VersaFine Clair Stempelkissen überzeugen durch eine hohe Pigmentdichte und eine sehr gleichmäßige Farbabgabe. Bereits bei leichtem Druck entstehen klare, satt gefärbte Abdrücke. Auch feine Linien und filigrane Details werden präzise übertragen, ohne Ausfransen oder Verlaufen. Getestet habe ich die Farben Nocturne, Golden Meadow, Green Oasis und Tulip Red. Alle vier Farbtöne zeigen eine sehr gute Sättigung und Deckkraft. Nocturne liefert ein tiefes, gleichmäßiges Schwarz, Golden Meadow wirkt warm und klar, Green Oasis ist intensiv und frisch, und Tulip Red zeigt ein kräftiges, sauberes Rot ohne Fleckenbildung. Die Tinte verteilt sich gleichmäßig auf dem Stempel, trocknet zügig auf Papier und bleibt nach dem Trocknen klar definiert. Insgesamt machen die Stempelkissen einen hochwertigen und ergiebigen Eindruck. Sehr gut geeignet für detailreiche Motive, Karten, Tags, Journaling und Scrapbooking. Klare Kaufempfehlung.

Best crisp black ink ever!

Crisp, deep, intense, black pigment ink. Even the top card making influencers I’ve noticed constantly and consistently grab this for sentiments as they come out as close to perfect as you could get, unless you have a crummy stamp to begin with. Works great with embossing powder, sticking, and heats up perfectly with my clear Wow. One of my favorite supplies. I never want to run out so always grab a new one when I’m low. I skip reinkers but I’m sure it’s the same results. The price per use is worth every penny. No ventilation, necessary, soft scent, not ventilation worthy 😊❤️
