Nissan design = cheap junk
So, Nissan has a design issue because these switches fail prematurely and if you take it to the dealer they will charge you $200-600 to replace it!!We just replaced one at the dealer not 8 months ago and the switch already went bad again. Just swapped it out myself in less than 2 minutes. There definitely should be a class action lawsuits against Nissan and it's dealers who are robbing us blind. This is clearly a design problem.Nissan- never again will I purchase one of your vehicles because of this issue. A vehicle is expected to start consistently, and this shoddy design of such a critical part is unbelievable. It's left my wife in a car that won't start at least 3 times now.

Nissan really messed up on this one.
My wife's 2010 nissan altima won't start. You'll start to notice that the push to start works intermittently. This is the best quick and easy fix. Unclip, and twist out the old unit. Install in reverse, and happy wife. I'm glad the part doesn't cost $80 likes it used to. This is a very common know issue. Boo on Nissan engineers for creating an easily avoidable problem.

Fix intermittent start up issues - Great OEM part
Fixed the issue I was having with intermittent startup. The "push brake pedal" light would be on, despite pushing it and trying to start the car. It's 13 years old, so some things are bound to failed eventually. Seems like a pretty critical part that might have been under engineered though. Glad I bought this and did it myself vs paying the stealership.

TRUE FACTORY NISSAN PART
The original factory installed brake switch finally failed after 14 years, guess I got lucky cause this seems to have been and common problem for Nissan owners of various models after only several years or few thousand miles. Removed the faulty component and replaced with OEM Nissan brake switch, push button start working like normal and all brake lights fully functional.

Fixed push button start issue
This solved the problem of our Nissan Armada not starting periodically. It was not registering that we had a foot on the brake to start.Be sure and make sure both switches are aligned the same depth. Ours was a little off at first and it kept engaging the brake while driving. After aligning them, it worked great.
