Love it!
A must have tool for your home if you are trying to trace lines and figure out what room goes to what line I the basement - especially after you buy a home that over the course of 30 years has had at least three different companies in there running lines all over the place - made it very easy to clean up a mess

Quick and Simple
I wanted to figure out which coax line went to my office. Took just a few minutes to find the correct coax. I had wasted an hour the previous day walking back and forth between my office and the outdoor coax box.

Good
Looked a good product, but I did didn’t use it as I got everything working before it came and I don’t think I’ll be using it again

Makes tracking coax in the walls way easier!
I picked up this coax toner/identifier tool while trying to sort out a bunch of unlabeled coax runs in our condo, and overall it made the job *significantly* easier. Biggest pros: * Made it easy to identify and label mystery coax runs * The tone is loud enough that I could hear it across the house, which meant I could do most of the work by myself instead of needing someone on the other end * Very compact and easy to store * The two pieces snap together when not in use, which is honestly a small feature but super appreciated since it helps prevent losing parts The only real issue I ran into was that on a few specific cable runs, the toner either wouldn’t detect the connection or the signal was very intermittent. My guess is it was probably related to the condition of the cable or connectors, because when I connected actual MoCA/network equipment over the same run, it still worked. So I wouldn’t necessarily assume the tool is defective, but it’s worth knowing that detection wasn’t 100% reliable on every cable in my setup. Overall though, for the price and convenience, this was absolutely worth having if you’re dealing with unlabeled coax wiring.

Fast, signal on both ends, easy.
This worked perfectly. You unscrew the tone generator from the end of the handle and onto the RG6 cable. At the other end of the cable, slip the cable into the fitting. If you got it right, the LED at the top of the handle will light up and the tne will be heard at the other end. If there is a short in your cable this tool will show there is a connection - even if there is not. This will only work on RG6 type coaxial cable, not ethernet or anything else. Contractor had left a mess of cables at my son's house, no connectors on them. I used a stripper and compression fitting tool and then sorted them out one-by-one until we had them all figured out and labeled. Of course, one of the fittings they had installed was shorted, that had us scratching our heads for a minute.

Worth the money.
Works great found every lead within minutes. Easy to use it does not come with instructions but you have to twist off the end piece and connect that to end of the RG6 cable it makes the sound. Just took me a few seconds to figure out.

Does not work with splitter transformers
Does not work with splitter transformers in the line. It is robust and as a continuity tester it works ok.
