Weird but wonderful
I'm a fairly serious skincare enthusiast and no newbie to "natural" products, but this texture was a shock at first--almost like an oily, soft clay mask--and I was very dubious. But it actually spreads with incredible ease, and just a pea-sized amount covers the whole face well. (Even with totally liquid sunscreens, like Avene Mineral Ultra Light, I usually have to mix with Embryolisse to get the right spreadable consistency.) To me this feels a tiny bit little oily yet not really moisturizing--my combo skin leans dry in the winter and while this certainly doesn't make it worse, I don't find that this really sinks in to makes the skin feel quenched. Yet there is a filmy oily feeling (worse if you accidentally use too much). Some would enjoy the believably dewy finish; I don't like shine and just use a light dusting of powder (bareminerals spf mineral veil) on top to get back to a natural just-washed texture. [Mar 2019 ETA: Nowadays I am adding a single drop of Kora Organics Noni Glow Face Oil to a pea sized amount of this, and mixing in my hands before applying--goes on like a dream, somehow feels less filmy/oily than this product alone, and I get a a natural-looking glow that's much better than an oil alone (which always looks greasy)--and it all smells deliciously like spa roses, though no artificial fragrances were involved. It's heaven! I still dust my forehead with powder but don't need as much.] The scent is also initially alarming. I appreciate the lack of added fragrance/fragrance cover-up, but I was expecting herbacious botanical--like something from Sunday Riley or Herbivore--but this smells to me like something in between clay and tires (like the smell of road burn, or industrial rubber). And I don't mean "sexy clay," the way a good mud mask smells at a spa; this is more like the smell of a slippy clay bucket that's been left out for a couple days. Still, the scent is not too strong and I got used to it quickly. Memories of my ceramics class days practically make me break out in hives, but the texture (and SPF coverage) is so good that putting on this "base layer" in the morning still manages to feel luxurious. ("Base layer" because you really can't call this a "cream.") The packaging is solid; like most creams in pots in this price range, under the screw-top lid is a little plastic flat cap/seal to keep everything tightly sealed and fresh. This one is less flimsy than most, with a snug fit and a tiny handy pull tab, and I've actually washed it and kept it to make sure the pot doesn't spill when I take it traveling. I also use a small plastic scoop with this that I got from another pot.

Formula Changed?
I was loyal to this sunscreen for almost 2 years and I told everyone I knew who was looking for a clean sunscreen that this was the best they could get. It was moisturizing and melted into the skin wonderfully. I just re-purchased the formula for the first time in about a year, and I was so disappointed to find that the formula has changed. When I scoop the product out of the jar it separates quickly on my fingers, and water or some other binder beads up out of the formula. When I apply to my skin the zinc does not blend evenly with the rest of the formula so I get a slimy clear mess and then blotches of thick white. I am so disappointed and will not be re-purchasing.

Great product but very pricy forthevokume you get
Great product but very pricy forthevokume you get. The pot was only 1/2 to 2/3 full. Not likely to reorder. Will try to find acomparable product for a better price!

Don't expect it to moisturize, but A+ primer and sunscreen
I had hoped it would do ALL the things given the $$ - moisturize, prime and protect. I haven't found that to be true, but once I readjusted my expectations, I've come to really like it. I think it's pretty odorless, it goes on smoothly and you need very little product for full coverage. It does seem to prime my face pretty well for makeup, but then again I'm not using a primer so maybe I don't know what I'm missing? I did add a moisturizer underneath this as I felt that was needed in the winter months. Perhaps it won't be necessary come Texas summer? All in all, I love that it's a sunscreen that lacks the typical sunscreen smell and goopy, greasy feel. It's pretty weightless under my makeup, offering superior coverage to other options I've tried and dries well. For those reasons, I think I'll be a repeat customer.

The non-toxic sunscreen I have been searching for!
This works!! It blends in, and doesn't sit ontop of your skin like other physical sunscreens. It feels moisturizing and non-cakey/drying. Non-toxic ingredients and the best part is that while it checks all these boxes, it actually works to protect your skin from UV. Highly recommend and this is my new go-to sunscreen.

Greasy Sunscreen Feeling
I love that this product doesn't have the toxic additives that many face lotions with sunscreen but it feels much more like a greasy sunscreen than a face lotion. I don't like it at all and there's no way to return it which is a shame because it was so freaking expensive.

Mildewy Smell Once Applied
I searched for hours for the perfect sunscreen with non-nano zinc oxide and good, natural ingredients. For the right product, I was willing to pay what I would otherwise consider a ridiculous price for the shockingly small container of sunscreen I received. Upon opening it, I was greeted by a distantly pleasant face cream odor and thought nothing of it. However, after putting a small amount of it on my face, I began to notice a mildewy smell, like when you leave wet laundry in the washer for too long. I assumed it would go away, but even after a full day of wearing it, I was still catching whiffs of that mild, unpleasant smell. Such a bummer because I was so excited to finally find a product that checked all my boxes, made by a company that values high-quality ingredients, but I just can't walk around smelling like that. And I'm doubly disappointed because I hadn't noticed that this product was not returnable until after I ordered it.

Smooth and light
I love this cream. Lightweight and blends well. Great to use if pregnant bc non-nano. Seems to have protected my skin ok. Perhaps not the ultimate protection for heavy heavy sun situations but still very good.
