What wood make the core? Is it bamboo?

it’s not wood it’s very thin piece of bamboo that i had to fold for it to fit into my regular incense holder.

Does anybody else find the 3-4 " palo smells terrible has no woody scent actually makes me feel sick anybody else?

I had the same experience. It smelled like burning rubber.
