Canon PIXMA G650 Wireless 3-in-1 Refillable MegaTank Inkjet Photo Printer - A4, Print, Copy, Scan - Wi-Fi, Cloud connectivity, LCD Screen - Suitable for large volume printing photos

I bought this after doing loads of research to replace my small HP Inkjet basic printer and my experience so far has been AMAZING. Initial Setup - really straight forward to follow the setup guide steps, WiFi connection was all good although the small LCD arrows/OK button takes a little getting used to to enter your password but not a real issue. Ink Tank Filling - Loading the ink bottles into the tanks was a breeze due to the foolproof design ensuring you don't put the wrong colours in the tanks. No drips or spillage! Printing & Print Quality - Absolutely second to none! Using decent photo paper whether it's glossy, matte or semi-gloss/luster paper turns out brilliant detail and colours everytime. Zero banding even when printing bold same colours on a full A4 sheet. My mind it boggled at how good the quality is compared to my previous 'budget' HP inkjet. This uses 6 different ink colours to achieve professional quality colour detail (Black, Grey, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Red) Speed - it's not the fastest, which is highlighted on many reviews, but unless you're wanting loads of prints quickly this isn't a problem. It's geared towards photo prints, so quality over quantity is key. A4 full page of 100% coverage still popped out in around 90 seconds. I've suffered no paper jams yet. Value for Money - I was going to buy it at the price after doing loads of research around these types of printers with the feature of the 'Megatank' being the main value for money draw. Using bottles of the Canon GI-53 60ml inks to empty into the tanks provides around 3800 photo prints. Information during research on reviews typically brings per page print to around 2p which is mind blowing compared to traditional inkjet cartridges. Maintenance - there is a maintenance cartridge which eventually will get filled up when it flushes the inks etc. but looking at these they are around £10, so no issues given the low cost of that. The stars must have aligned as following the decision to buy it, Canon were running a £120 cashback campaign (need to ensure seller is Amazon) and I registered this after delivery and amazingly received the money within 4 days which included the Sunday when I registered it! If you're still on the fence, take the plunge, you won't regret it.

I have used Canon printers for last 20 years and they have always served me well. I bought the G650 to replace a 8 year old 8050. My usage is that of occasional home office printing with Art and Photo printing as the majority. So far, despite what the reviewers say it has served me well for printing letters and documents, speed and quality are fine for me as a home office worker. For art and photo printing it is excellent so far. I haven't tried using profiles but when time allows will see and update the review. In terms of build quality you have to agree with other reviewers it is not the most solid feeling printer, however what is these days. For the offer price I got, its amazing value and if it lasts 5 years I will be very happy. The Cashback offer process was quick as well, was paid within a week.

The printer was recommended as having superior photo printing capabilities, so I bought one. The price was the best I could get and due to the value I got it delivered free. It was well packed and shipped earlier than scheduled. The setup was not as good as hoped. My computer could not find the printer through a direct link via USB port. I switched to a Wi-Fi connection and it worked fine, so I let that problem go. The new ink tanks are great and so easy to fill, but I was dissapointed that the ink levels, and the display screen where you have several options to choose from have no backlights. This is a problem when working with the printer at night, I had to use a hand torch to read what was on the screen. I feel a company like Canon could have incorporated a back light at a very low cost, and cannot justify not including one. Though I am happy with the print quality I would not buy this model again as I tend to use it a lot in the evening.

This was a reduced price return so came with the inks already installed. This caused a problem as, due to the severe handling while in transit the inks had bled from the tubes. This meant the printer, once connected up, wouldn't print any colour but yellow. Eventually I had to do a severe purge of the inks (using a large amount of ink) to fill the tubes fully. This did the trick and now the printer produces excellent colour prints. So eventually the printer lived up to Canon's claim of it being a brilliant colour printer. Just beware, if you buy one that has been used, you initially may have problems.

This is a first impressions review. At the moment I have only setup the printer , added ink and tried to print a document. I can only hope it gets A LOT better from here. The build quality feels poor. The buttons are horrible, really clunky and cheap. It took me a long time to connect the printer to my wifi network. The screen is tiny and had no backlight, which seems prehistoric. It's almost impossible to read what's on screen and input any details. This experience was painful. For a printer that cost so much money I would expect way better. My old Epsom printer I have had for over 10 years provided a much better experience than this and much better build quality. So this is really disappointing. The primary reason I have bought this printer is to print photos and greeting cards, which I have done a tonne of research on and this printer is highly regarded for this. I haven't yet tested this printing yet. I will do an update review once this is complete. However when trying to print a simple PDF it was a disaster. The printer wouldn't connect to my phone, I couldn't select A4 and the worst thing I find in this scenario is that the paper feed is only available through a rear feed, there is no paper tray in the printer.... Another really poor attribute to this printer. Who has time to add paper to the back of a printer anytime they want to print. You just want the paper in a paper tray for convenience. But the fact I couldn't connect the printer and print is a complete disaster. The primary function of the printer did not work. Incredibly disappointing for the price I have paid for this printer. The basic requirements I had were to easily add this to my network, and be able to easily and quickly print from any device in the home. Complete Fail. Please think twice before buying this and making the same mistake I did.

My previous printer was a Canon 5 cartridge variety which I thought was quite good. Then I bought this one because I wanted to sell A4 prints to collectors. Very well packed into its box, easy to get out with the ink bottles in a separate one at the back. Easy to wire up just used the old mains and USB cable from my other printer. Filling it was easy and I read that you can top the tanks up with new bottles and it will 'switch' a bottle off when full so no danger of overflow! The prints are superb my old printer was not even in the same street. Super colour rendered detail such as I've never seen even on a print house one. What amazed me first was a black and white print of some woodland with a small part of the image in the distance and faintly visible on screen as very light grey and there it was on the print so lightly done that I didn't notice it for some time. Then tried another black and white image and coloured it slightly Yellow and Red and lowered the saturation so there was just the faintest glimmer of colour on my screen .... held my breath and printed a test strip on some A4 paper I was totally astonished that it printed it perfectly. Worth every penny and with the bonus that the ink will last for ages. Cheers

Excellent print quality, lightweight, but slow to print , It’s ideal for domestic use of it you don’t have high demand of printing.

this is an excellent printer, easy to set up out of the box. Connecting to Wi-Fi can be tricky as printers digital text display can be difficult to read, using phone torch to illuminate display helps a lot. Also had difficulty setting printer to print custom size as I wanted to print greeting card. Got everything sorted and results outstanding , more than happy and looking for next printing project

Bonjour, Je suis très d’écu, les images sont délavées. Peu importe le type de papier ou le logiciel utilisé et et même après toute les différent types de lavage dans les options de maintenance de l'imprimante. Photo en exemple. Image a gauche sur une autre imprimante et à droite sur le G650. Du coup impossible d’être remboursé intégralement par le vendeur pour cause "d'encre utilisé". Il faut tester l'imprimante sans encre si vous ne voulez pas être embêté.... SAV Amazon est aussi déplorable... En tout une catastrophe cet achat

Non pas satisfait, il y’a tromperie sur la marchandise, car la description dit bien qu’elle est wifi, alors que pas du tout ! Elle est donc inutilisable en l’état pour nous.
