The bracket has a hole in it to bolt the clamp to, u could hang it on a hook thru that hole.

I have a 4'x8' growing area, how many lights would I need?

China but it doesn't matter where it's made despite this question repeatedly being asked on every item here with prices that are too good to be true. If the manufacturing country was truly important, you probably would not be shopping on Amazon. So many good products come from China and we should continue to support the Chinese businesses that make good products just like you might do with US based businesses. China is one of the fastest growing countries in terms of GDP, they're not going away but hopefully they'll improve their labor practices and environmental regulations. Boycotting $19 Chinese grow lights is not going to change anything.
