Super-Fast tablet, great display, optimum size, but fingerprint reader needs some rework before the next model comes out
This is the first tablet I've had that is super-fast. You tap on something and you're not wondering when it will decide to open the app. It's a perfect size in my opinion, a little less than a 10" or larger tablet but significantly larger than my 7" Kindle Fire (which is very slow, by the way!). It's easy to carry and big enough to be useful and easy to read text and see images. The display is fantastic, very good for images, video, and text.I would deduct 1/2 of a star for the fingerprint reader (if I could), which doesn't work most of the time. I've tried registering my finger and thumb three different times. Sometimes it will work to unlock the screen (after 3 or more attempts) and sometimes it just refuses to work.I didn't actually buy it with the fingerprint reader as a function I wanted and only discovered that it had one after receiving it in the mail. However, I think a function that comes with a tablet should work and work well, and this does not. My fingerprint reader on my HP laptop works fine and never failed me when I had it enabled. I haven't updated the drivers for Windows and don't use a sign-in anymore, but at least it does work.So don't buy this tablet because you think you'll avoid the need to use your PIN to unlock the screen, but I wouldn't let that be a showstopper! Buy it for it being a very fast tablet with a great display. I doubt you'll miss the fingerprint reader feature when you see how fast this tablet works. But who knows? Maybe it will work better for you. One can hope, I guess. This uses the newer USB-C cable, so your micro-USB cable tips won't work to charge this. It does come with a charger and USB-C cord, but if you're like me and don't want to carry those with you wherever you go, buy a 3-pack of long USB-C cables and keep one in your car, at the office, and a spare in case you wear out the original cable. The type C cable end has an advantage that you don't have to orient the plug a certain way. You just insert it horizontally and don't worry about it. It fits either way. The cable will work with any USB phone charger or PC USB socketThe directions say to not leave this on charge indefinitely, unlike most other tablets, so after charging overnight, you probably should unplug it. This tablet doesn't have the annoying "feature" many tablets have of turning on when you plug it in to charge, nor does it turn on when you unplug it. My Kindle Fire and a Samsung tablet I have do that, and I think my old Toshiba tablets do, too. What's bad about that happening is if you turned it off, charged it, then unplugged it, on the Kindle Fire and other tablets they turn on when you unplug them. If you have your tablet in a protective case with a cover, you might not even notice this happening. If you don't stand there and wait for them to fully turn on then turn them off again, which is annoying enough, your battery begins to drain the moment you unplug your tablet. Not so with this tablet. After unplugging it, it stays off (unless you left it on during charging, which the manual recommends not doing), so your battery will be fresh when you next use it.Setup is no more difficult than on any other Android tablet. What I find strange is that on this tablet, when you turn it on, it starts to boot, then goes to a screen where you enter your PIN, then it continues booting. There's nothing wrong with this; it's just different. Once it continues booting, it doesn't ask for your PIN again.Expect an update or two of the operating system either right after setup or within in a couple of days; after that, you probably won't see many, other than perhaps security updates.Overall, this is a great tablet. While the fingerprint reader woudl be great if it works, it's still a great tablet. If this review was helpful, please click the YES button below. Thanks!!!

Best Tablet EVER!
Let me start by stating that I can not say enough good things about this tablet! I looked at so many others when I was deciding on a purchase and I came back to this one time and time again. I waited for at least 8 months with my older, slower, smaller tablet. The last 3 months before Christmas were an an agony and ecstasy of anticipation. Finally, Christmas morning came and after all the unwrapping was done, I gleefully plugged in my new gift and waited impatiently for a full charge (which didn't take too long I might add). When I got it all set up, I was, quite simply, blown away! The quality of the images were so pure, true and clear that I felt like I could reach right in and grab whatever I was viewing. What a pleasure surfing the internet, watching movies and looking at pictures. And talk about fast! There was no lag of any kind in doing anything. I can now beautifully and easily stream all things to my TV via the Chromecast. I also put in a 128gb micro SD card which gave it an incredible storage capacity for all my movies and pictures etc. With the 64gb internal storage I can finally have plenty of apps installed without running out of space. And if for any reason I still need more space, I can buy and change out as many micro SD cards as want. (sorry, but...in your face Apple I-Pad) I don't have all kinds of "benchmark" figures like the true techies, but for all of us average people, this is a good, solid, fast and truly beautiful device to behold. I had to get used to the placement of the buttons but each device is different in that way. Nothing was inconvenient in any way. The speakers were nothing short of amazing! I was used to a little sound, this has big, clear sound, something totally unexpected from a device of this size. It takes decent pictures if you really need it to, not great but decent. This is not something I use it for anyway. My phone has a super camera so that's my go to for pictures. Charging time is great, battery time is great too, although I have seen others rate it negatively on this score. It all depends on what you were using before I suppose. This lets me watch binge watch a series for many, many hours! And with this, I can finally watch or surf outdoors and actually see what I am looking at. The brightness level is wonderful. Lastly, I have to say, as tablets go, this is really quite affordable compared to some of the others that are available which don't even have all the features of this one. All in all, this is my dream tablet and has been worth researching, agonizing over, waiting for and, best of all, using and using and USING. I LOVE it and give it my highest recommendation!
