XLUX Long Probe Plant Soil Moisture Meter, Indoor Outdoor use, Battery-Free

Finally, an inexpensive probe that actually works and is easy to use! I have tried others and had no confidence in what they were telling me as they seemed to always be stuck at the same low moisture setting. Whether because of the deep probe or the specific sensor, this meter clearly responds to the different moisture states in my planters so I can have some confidence in the reading. I consider this a great purchase that lets me water when needed and keeps me from overwatering. It is easy to use and very portable so I can use it indoors and outdoors. I will do my part to take care of it and hope it lasts a long time.

The moisture probe works great. I carry it around as I water my plants to ensure I don’t overwater. I do wish the top was tilted back a bit as when pushing the probe deeply into the ground it is hard to read. One must bend over almost to the ground to read it. I tested the probe by inserting it into bagged soil, a newly watered plant/tree, and a pot of soil that was dry with a fake plant in it. It read as expected so I trust it now. The price is good, particularly for two (so I keep one in the garage and the other in the shed), and as of now the durability is perfect, although I do not leave it in the ground or in direct sun. The probe goes into the ground well without much difficulty, and I’m pleased with the purchase.

I like this soil moisture meter very much. My plants have done much better since I began regularly measuring moisture before watering. I tend to overwater. I am glad I bought it and it works well. Easy & fast.

This thing works great, though people should know its fragile. I dropped it and it broke entirely. Not shattered just stopped working. Will be buying again to replace.

Cheap, no assembly required, easy to use! After hearing a recommendation from a landscape guru I follow on Facebook, I decided to order this and it has been a great purchase. It has kept me from overwatering some of my new landscaping plants. Its easy to use. Just stick it into the soil around the plant and it immediately indicates if water is needed.

Works very well. I haven't been using it that long so I can't report on durability. I can see now that I had been over watering my tomatoes. The top few inches of my soil was dry, but 10 inches down it was still quite moist.

Me habia comprado antes un medidor digital, muy chulo con una pantalla donde te indica los datos pero nada fiable, siempre me daba una humedad un 30% superior a la real. Este en cambio me ha parecido super fiable y mucho mas barato. Menos es mas a veces!

يؤدي الغرض من معرفه كميه الرطوبه الداخليه ويجب مراعاه ان يترك داخل التربه لمده خمس ثواني حتى تكون القراءة ثابته ومستقره وليس مباشره وايضا يجب اخذ اكثر من قراءه في الأحواض الكبيره واخذ المتوسط بينها لاختلاف أشكال الأصيص وايضاً تجمع الجذور في اي منطقه منه

I bought the 40cm version specifically for checking moisture levels in larger pots and planters, and it has been extremely useful. The long probe allows me to see what’s happening deeper down in the compost rather than just relying on how dry the surface looks. The meter is simple to use with no batteries required. The readings respond quickly and have helped me avoid both overwatering and underwatering my plants. I was surprised to find that some pots that looked dry on top were actually still quite moist deeper down. The build quality feels good, the probe is sturdy, and it’s especially useful for larger containers where judging moisture by eye is difficult. Since using it, I’ve been much more confident about when my plants actually need watering. A great little tool for any gardener, particularly if you grow plants in pots and containers. Very curious results in the beginning which we thought were showing us that our pots were overwatered - following this we did not water the pots for many days. However, after getting many "wet" results from pots we checked the soil and it was it was dry. Not only this but borders that were soaked by us we checked them half an hour later and they showed as completely dry - not even moist. I live in the UAE and I suspect that either this device is defective or it's not working properly in such warm environment.

No idea why it to so long for me to find these! Absolutely fantastic tool. You can look at the pot with a dry crust and be convinced it needs watering 2 seconds later nope it’s wet. Check with a finger and confirm roots don’t need more water today. Quick and easy too.
