Thus scissor rocks! I like to reduce the volume of plastic recycles and, comically, upon opening the box, the packaging's print announced: that it's easy to cut anything you like into small pieces. (I've since learned that in Japan, recyclables, kept to a minimum, are commonly carried in small portions to collection points rather than stored at home — space being at a premium.) Well, this scissor works as advertised: it cuts easily through plastic — and grabs the plastic while cutting due to the subtle ridges along the blade's facing edges; the offset angle of the handle keeps one's hand out of harm's way; and the slide lock works! Also, the adjustable blade opens to a wider width if desired. It slides right through softer plastic packaging as well. For an additional benefit, the sprung squeeze handles don't hurt my arthritic thumb.

Nicely weighted, the functionality of the angle present in the blade becomes immediately evident upon usage, I can tell the angle makes it so much easier to work with. Spend the extra bit to get these over the smaller ones. Decent size and grip, works well with gloves too. For a hefty job, you may want something like mechanix gloves, other wise you’ll need to take breaks more often unless you’ve got burly hands. Initial reaction was they were very easy to use, effective at cutting, and comfortable to hold. Easily shreds through thick material, wouldn’t be surprised if it could open or cut through thin metals as well. I don’t remember what packaging they came in, but I recommend scissors to cut open the package they came in, in case it’s hard to open. In terms of the ease of opening up the carpet floor, I imagine it’s great. I used it to cut up an old rug of mine because I didn’t want to pay to throw it away. These cost less than the fee to toss it, lol. And I couldn’t give it away either, even though it would have been nice if I could have.

These carpet scissors are a great tool for any carpet installation or trimming task! The blades are sharp, allowing for clean, precise cuts through even thick carpet fibers. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the scissors can be a bit stiff at first, but after using them a few times, they loosened up and became much smoother to operate. It's not a major issue, but worth noting. Overall, these carpet scissors are a must-have for anyone working with carpets. They’re sturdy, reliable, and do the job well. I highly recommend them!

I bought these primarily to get my hearing aid batteries out of the little plastic pods the put them in now. They cut the pods sell and make the batteries easy to release. The angles cutting blade is a good feature. I have found them excellent for other jobs beyond the cutting strength of regular scissors. I find them handy to have around.

Cuts through thick foam which is what I wanted it for. It’s sharp without that super sharp tip that can be dangerous. I plan to keep it. The only thing that counts make it better would be for it to be longer so I don’t have to snip in such small lengths.

I’ve been using these scissors every day for over a week now in the garden. They are very comfortable to use for long periods, strong and very sharp. Got to be my favourites, and I use scissors a lot for pruning and shredding for composting. I use these where many times I would have to resort to secateurs. So far, excellent. Thank you.

Have used them to cut paper, plastic, rubber. One side is serrated which helps with tougher materials. Good quality and works well.

Good sturdy scissors, they cut well but a bit short for what I want.

Have had them a while. I don't use them every day but they've been great for cutting multiple materials.
