Prefer fox but this is my pocket back up. Durable and price is right. Would buy again.

As a soccer referee I have several different styles of whistle, but this one is my absolute favorite! The sound is distinct, clear and loud! The tone is quite pleasant, almost musical, compared to the Fox40 or other pea whistles. The whistle is compact enough that I can carry two in my hand during the games without fumbling or feeling uncomfortable. (I have them connected to a string lanyard that I wrap around my hand to keep me from dropping them.)

I use it as a wrestling referee whistle and it sounds different than all the other whistles around me. I find I get a lot less accidental stoppages during the matches I am refereeing

Love these whistles. When I am refereeing a soccer game with numerous others going on around me, players appreciate the tone difference from the Fox. I bought two and doubt I will ever go to another whistle.

My staff of referees have been using normal plastic/metal whistles for years. I thought I would try a couple of these due to the downward angle design. With 2 of us, standing about 250 feet apart (outside), they are about 1/3 the volume as a regular plastic whistle. I can not imagine how they came up with 'Tornado Whistle'?? I had them too long to return, but they are useless for our purpose.
