I have super fine and thin hair, so I am always a little skeptical about shampoos that claim to add volume. A lot of volumizing shampoos either make my hair feel too dry, too tangled, or they give me volume for about five minutes and then everything goes flat again. This one actually works quite well for me, but I think the way you use it makes a big difference. If I just use it like a regular shampoo and scrub it directly into my scalp, I do not get the same result. This is the routine that works best for my hair: 1. Put the shampoo in your hands first and lather it well before applying it to your hair. 2. Start working it into your hair from the ends and lengths instead of immediately putting a big amount directly on your scalp. I find this helps distribute the product much more evenly. 3. Massage and lather it through the hair, then rinse very thoroughly. Do not leave any shampoo residue behind because that can weigh fine hair down. 4. Shampoo a second time using the same method. For me, the second wash is where I really notice the difference. My hair feels much cleaner and lighter afterward. 5. If you have fine hair that tangles easily, I would definitely recommend following with a volumizing conditioner. This shampoo can leave my hair feeling a little more tangled than a moisturizing shampoo, but conditioner fixes that easily. I personally just use any conditioner that says “volume” or is made for fine hair. 6. Towel dry your hair gently and then blow dry it. I would not expect the full volumizing effect if you simply leave your hair soaking wet and let it air dry. 7. When blow drying, avoid using extremely high heat. I use warm air for most of the drying process, then switch to completely cold air with zero heat for the last minute or so. 8. Once it is completely dry, my hair looks noticeably fuller, lighter, and more lifted instead of sticking flat against my head. If you could, for an even better result, literally flip your head upside down so your head is pointing toward the floor and all your hair is hanging downward, then blow dry your hair in that position. It gives you extra volume. I think some of the negative reviews may come from people expecting the shampoo alone to magically create huge volume without changing how they wash or dry their hair. With super fine hair, technique matters a lot. For me, this is not a miracle product that suddenly gives you twice as much hair, but it does make my existing hair look fuller and less flat. When I follow this routine, the difference is noticeable enough that I keep using it. So if you have very fine or thin hair and already bought this shampoo, I would suggest trying it this way before deciding that it does not work. Use it properly, rinse it really well, blow dry without excessive heat, finish with cold air, and enjoy the volume.

I have very fine, naturally curly/wavy hair. What some might consider Irish curls. I baby my hair. I dont dye it. I dont use heat on it. I dont use any hair products except castor oil. Ive been trying different shampoos with clean ingredients. This shampoo takes the cake! It smells great. My hair feels so soft and isnt frizzy. It doesnt feel heavy. I think my hair even curls/waves prettier now. My picture is with bed head after falling asleep with my hair wet. I dont think ill be trying any more shampoos. My hair loves it and the fact the ingredients are clean is a huge win. I try to live as low tox as I can.
