SKIL SRT1039 Benchtop Portable Router Table with Dual Sided Integrated Bit Storage

I have just bought this RAS900 router table after the usual research. The reviews seemed healthy, Skil is a well known brand and the price tag was attractive. Simply, it ticked all the right boxes for my needs. However... what wasn't made clear on the Amazon page is that it comes direct from the US, and consequently is wired for 125v, with American plug sockets for the router and vacuum, and of course the table itself to plug into the mains. Hmmmph. So the built-in stop/start function is useless over here, which was a big disappointment. The obvious option is to use a 2-way extension lead for the router and vacuum (preferably switched for emergency stop), although I am going to take apart the router table electrical box and see if it can be re-designed for 240v. Otherwise it's going in the bin. Also, I wanted a table because I have an old Elu router kicking about which seemed a waste. Of course, this table didn't have the right holes for mounting the Elu onto the plate, so I had to make all the new holes myself. Not hard, but annoying when you have to modify a brand new toy! So, my summary is that it's a good table - quality seems fine, all the right accessories, like the foldable legs etc, good price, but buy one that's meant to be used in the UK! I've since had another look around the sales page and nowhere can I see a 125v spec listed. Review update - I've since managed to rewire the supplied box, fortunately the main switch and reset switch are both rated for 250v. I basically ditched the two US sockets and hard-wired the router into the switch, copying the stock wiring exactly. Works fine.

Update: When mounting the metal plate to the skill router it can actually go on two ways. The wrong way prevents you from opening the latch to the router that allows you to adjust the height unless you undo the latch that holds the router to the table. That would be a non workable table. If you rotate the plate you can get the router latch in a position that does not interfere with the latch to the router table. Also; You can remove and tight the bit with a wrench with the router in the table from underneath the table. Arrived in perfect condition. Most of the table was per-assembled. The rest was quite easy to do. I have been reading about router tables for a while and this table is high quality and will perfectly will do what I need it to do. For those that feel they should have got a better table, the most good fences cost more than this whole table. I could not find a table that supported Skil Routers without having to drill the table or used brackets. I love how this table mounts the router easy to take out and put in and installed very stable. The miter is nothing special but is functional. I doubt it is very accurate but I am sure for a hundred dollars you can get a nice one. The featherbords work well. The fence is very nice and the table smooth. For the non professional homeowner woodworker this is a great table for the price. I doubt for the price you will get a better Router Table.

This is a great router table for the money. Has everything you need - the feather boards both vertical and horizontal are really nice. And, the vacuum attachment works perfectly, although I had to 3D print an adapter as I've had to do with all my tools because the industry doesn't seem to be able to come up with a standard for this. When I use the router table, there's not a single bit of sawdust that's not collected - which was always something that deterred me from using the router more - just too messy. Only thing that was strange is that it comes with a silly 1' long power cord to the switch box. Really weird and not sure how they even managed to get through UL approval with that. So, I took the switch box apart and installed a proper 6' long power cord so I don't have to use an extension cord all the time. Clamps to a work surface nicely and makes a nice sturdy, functional router table for intermittent use. Not something a professional would probably want, but for the home hobbyist, it's perfect. Folds down to a nice storage size without too much trouble. I installed my Ryobi router in it. The mount plate had holes pre-drilled for a number of routers, but didn't seem to fit my Rybobi, although it did say in the manual that it was supposed to support a Ryobi router - must have been a different model. But, with a little measuring I was able to drill holes in the mount plate to work with my router no problem. So, it's very adaptable to routers that it doesn't list as being supported. There is not height adjustment in this router table though. So, you have to use a router that has a good height adjustment system of its own - mine was a plunge router so it has a simple lever to adjust height. Otherwise, you're faced with using the arbor to do the adjustment of tool height. Kind of strange because I figured a good router table would have a proper height adjustment system for the router table.
