These are the only thing I have found that will cut our Great Pyrenees' fur. Before this we were using drama shears... and yes, it was as bad as it sounds. These glide through once adjusted properly. I've never sheared a sheep, but I can tell you with a dog to be very careful. You can nick their thin skin. The unit is very loud and that spooked my dog at first. It also gets really hot. Needs lots of oil!

I am not sure how to rate these. They certainly cut through the wool but I am new to shearing and I cut the sheep's skin twice. I have clipped a LOT of horses and dogs but not sheep. I ended up pulling out my heavy duty horse clippers instead. They worked great but I only have a couple to sheer. If you are good at clipping sheep these work very well. If you are not experienced, these could be dangerous. I would have someone experienced help you.

Bought these as I read some good reviews. I do not recommend these for sheep. Works “ok” if the wool is somewhat short. But not as a full wool sheep. The clippers get extremely hot on the hand. Fully oiled all the time. After a while the blades dull. I sheared 1 lamb. Junk! Shipping was fast, that’s why the 1 star. Do not buy for sheep.

Great price works well finished the sheep in no time at all making it very easy to use great power and speed and Vey durable to use.

Comes ready to use. Just made quick adjustments as recommended by the directions and it was good to go. Got two sheep sheared right away, it started bogging down a bit but just brush it out and add a bit more oil and it worked great. Easy to clean and reassemble.

These sheep shears exceeded my expectations. The 500W motor provides plenty of power to cut through thick wool quickly and smoothly. Shearing my flock takes much less time now, and the results look professional.
