KREGKPC1040 Plug Cutting Bit-Micro

While the Kreg system is an excellent way to join pieces of wood together this plug cutter is an exceptional way to cut matching wood plugs to fill the holes. What better way to allow the wood to blend and hide the screw holes than to use the same wood you are making the project out of. This way color of the wood and stainability match and the patched hole almost disappears. If you use the micro system of pocket hole joinery by Kreg this is a must to make your own plugs. It's easy to use. You simply put a piece of the wood you are using in the pocket hole jig and drill the plug. You break the plug off the scrap piece and you have a perfect match for your project.

I tried 4 different pieces of wood and could not get one plug that looked good and didn’t mangle up. They are usable but your gonna be using more glue and sawdust to fill them in.

While the bit did cut an accurate size plug, the top edge was not a clean cut and the wood shredded. I tried various speeds with my drill to see if that helped, but no luck there. I used the “shredded” plugs with some matching wood filler. The end result was fine, but not up to my expectations.

Compré la herramienta a pesar de que es algo costosa pensando en lo necesario que es para los agujeros del mini kreg, pero la verdad es deficiente, saca los tapones incompletos por más intentos que haga, no la regreso por que la necesito, pero termino resanando con masilla para hacer un buen llenado de loa agujeros. La recomendaría si de veras no tienen de otra, pero preparase para sufrir. Mal

El diametro es muy chico no funciona con el jig j3
