made in china but it is a very nice tool- well made and ergonomically nice

There is nothing imprinted on it indicating origin. That aside, my wife loves it & says she has no idea how she cooked for so many years without one.

Is it magnetic? Would I be able to put it on my magnetic bar?

No, It is not magnetic. I love it. Great strainer.
